What does Carnauba wax do to lighter color cars?

On the links in my sig my two last cars where lighter blues, I loved the look of P21s on them both, enhanced the colour, flake and gave a nice gloss.

blinkwatt- My wife liked Souveran better than *anything* on her silver Audi. She could always tell when I used that stuff on it. I'm still using carnaubas on it, #16 in the warmer months and 476S in the winter. And our Volvo wagon was a lightish blue; I used the same stuff on it.

The Rhodium Gray Metallic on my Jag is about the same darkness as your blue, and I use Souveran on it.

Truck looks good, 94BlkStang, that's what counts, dude.

Anyway...

I'm always undecided as to what if any nuba I would use on light colors. I've used #16,

PW, Natty's (whte one), 1000p, Hi Temps Bahama Mama, CMW, #26, OCW, and 845

on light metallics and solids. Personally, I find just about all of them will provide a

nice finish, however, it seems that the waxes that have good hiding ability will also

mute metallics. Waxes with less hiding ability, appear much clearer, and do a better

job of revealing metallic flake.

Good hiding waxes:

PW

#26

#16

Baha Mama

845

Less hiding waxes:

1000p

OCW

Natty's

If we're talking about working with solid light colors, I wouldn't hesitate

to use any of these waxes (in fact, I am always torn as to what to use on what).

But for metallics, I tend to lean towards the less hiding waxes.

S100 definately makes my Cotillion White '93 Fleetwood look quite a bit glossier and really does warm it up a bit, white or not. Also does a GREAT job of hiding swirls that I've not yet had the time to fully take care of. Does the same thing for our White '93 Roadmaster.

I think, regardless of how light or dark the color it is put on is, Carnauba seems to just give the paint a little more warmth and life.

That Lincoln looks an aweful like a cheap Ford Expedition only 20k more, lol. :grinno:

My suggestion for you would be to retake an English writing class and less time putting others down. And you wonder why people have problems with you.

I personally like the look of carnuba on all color's.

I do as well. But in reality, they don't seem to last as long as I would

like during the hotter parts of the year. So to get that warm nuba look,

I usually go with a durable sealer topped with WG.

You also might want to try Blitz Wax, which also looks very nice on light metallics, has excellent filling ability and lasts longer than any other carnauba I've ever used!
