What do you wear to detail in?

I've seen some of the cars guys have on here. If I was naked while detailing them I'd surley scratch the paint ;)

Sounds like there's consensus about this. Early on, I learned not to wear anything metal that would be exposed. So, if I'm in jeans, there's a soft t-shirt untucked. No watch, no rings. No shirts with bottons that could scratch. Recently, somebody helped me (taught me to) change the spark plugs. He was wearing a windbreaker with a zipper, and it scratched the dickens on the fender.

I've started wearing a thong and flip-flops and business has taken a turn for the worse. I don't understand.... :lol

Thanks, Scott for the visual...although I hear you have some nice legs from all that skating!

Me, I usually wear khaki shorts (or capri pants), with an oversized t shirt and Teva sandals. Not as exciting as Scottwax's ensemble, but definitely comfortable!

I usually have to keep a dry shirt handy as I tend to have a wet t-shirt after all that washing!

I've lost about 15 pounds since you saw me last. It isn't quite as bad as you imagine. Anyway, you've seen that I wear a t-shirt and shorts.

Interesting topic here........lets see I usually wear jeans, T-shirt and my footwear is always waterproof Magnum boots....very comfy really.

In the South Texas humidity a change of shirts.....and sometimes shorts......is a daily deal PLUS I have a head of hair that reaches just above my waist. Humid days really give me a bad hair day and I can never decide to wear it down or up.....Oh the pressure!!

Since I wear jeans and a button front shirt every day AND I manage to do some sort of detailing every day I keep a genuine Autopia apron right on top of my detailing bag in the bed of the truck. I do worry about the edges of the pockets sewn on the apron though. Seems like those seams could do some damage?

Haven't tried the thong yet :D ......Cotton tee shirt and sweats for me. Sometimes I end up detailing in my work clothes (business casual) for like a QD on my lunch or something.

Knit cotton shorts & t-shirt if it is warm enough & bare feet. If it's colder, I wear sweats and welly boots. The only ring I wear these days is my wedding ring, which is a plain, smooth, gold band, so I don't bother taking it off. I wouldn't want to lose that.

I wear an ancient pair of jeans (shorts if warm) , T shirt and old sneakers.

I wear my ring, bracelet and bulky Rolex with no fear of scratching. I'm careful enough to prevent it. Haven't had a problem yet.

This is my winter attire. It is waterproof to a certain degree but rusts like hell if I get too wet. Then the kids polish it out for me :D
