What do you use to wash your car?

Microfiber wash mitt from Target

Microfiber wash mitt from Poorboy's

Chenille from somewhere, I don't even remember.

Really Like the Microfiber wash mitt from Poorboy's. I haven't tried running it through the washing machine yet.

I really like the Target wool mitts....hand pick them like fruit....find the most plush and soft one out of the batch. I know others have done this and there is a huge difference in how some of them feel between others even though they are the same mitts. For the wheels I use a terry cloth wash mitt or cheap MF wash mitt.

I use the immitation "wool" mits.

Just watch that they don't mar your paint. A while back somebody found that his synthetic mitt was *really* scratching up his car. The ones I've used weren't nearly soft enough for me, even put very light marring on the clearcoat on some wheels.

I love the Chenille MF wash mit from www.ExcelDetail.com.

Works great, very soft, cleans well when machine washed after usage (my vehicles are never very dirty). Dirty areas (wheel wells, door jams, etc.) I still use 100% cotton.

Only problem is that I have large hands so I use it similiar to using a sponge rather than inserting my hand into the mit. Now double the plushness and soap holding capacity.

Definitely stay far away from any synthetic wool mitt. For me, its nothing but real sheepskin and I'll pick them like fruit :D from the shelf selecting only the softest ones

I've been thinking of ordering some of the chenille sponges from Pinnacle (and take advantage of the 20% off sale). However, I have kind of promised myself I would cut back on the detailing purchase (last month, I bought a PC, pads, UPP, Microrestore, and some more MF sponges!).

Regarding even the most expensive chenille mitts, make sure this doesn't happen to you! :scared :

I bought one, pulled out a strand and burned it. It curled up into a black, hard, plastic ball which indicates it ain't cotton.

not trying to bash pinnacle but there have been a few recent threads going about "black specs" possibly cotton seed hulls in the pinnacle pads. I think they are saying they are safe but will exchange them if you dont want the risk.

That is why I pay a little extra (shipping) and buy from vendors I trust. Exceldetail, Poorboy's, Zaino, DFTowel, PakShak and DavidB's Autopia store. Detailers and cars lovers that know, use and test (including quality control checks) the products they sell. :xyxthumbs

Exactly :D Every time I go to wal mart (which is not often) I feel everyone they have, if you are lucky I might find one (rarely two) that are veyr nice and soft, and I buy them and have them for when my current one wears out :)

I use a chenille mitt for wheel wells and wheels however.
