what do you use for your tires?

I often use Autoglym Instant Tyre Dressing for durability, I apply it with a sponge.



Sometimes if I'm feeling lazy or in a hurry I use CarPlan 'Wet Look' Tyre Slik. Comes in an aerosol that is easy to spray on without making a mess. Doesn't last very long though, maybe a week in dry weather, only two or three if it rains.

Right now I'm using Mother's new TireShine. Like it so far.

I like Z-16 a lot. I apply it with a sponge, then after a few minutes I'll wipe the tires down with a terry towel. Gives a nice matte black finish that lasts until the next wash. No slinging at all.

anyone uses shining monkey tire shine b4?

Here's my response from page 3:

friend of mine (always works that way doesn't it?) turned me onto Shining Monkey No Spitting Tire Shine. I was super reluctant to try it, but after using Meg's Endurance, and not really liking the application of it, heck, why not?



Shining Monkey works like a champ. The finish is almost a full gloss because I've seen others that are super glossy. Application is a breeze... Since it's an aerosol, just spray, wipe off any over spray from the rim/wheel, and you're off and running. No waiting time.



Anyone else try/like/use this product?

I have used PB for some time now, I went and had a brake pad change the other day and my brake mechanic warned that silicon based tyre shines actually damage the composition of the brake pads.. has anyone heard this??



Its got me worried, having $700 worth of Endless pads front and rear that they are going to be damaged in some way..

If you're worried about getting silicone tire shine products on your brake pads, then:



1. Don't use silicone-based dressings.

2. Don't spray aerosol products directly on the tire. Spray it onto an applicator first, or just use a product that is in liquid form or gel form.

There are Wheel Shields out there too that cover the wheel. So when you spray silicone-based dressings on tires it will not get to the brakes. It is what you do to your wheels that can affect you brakes.

I use Meg's APC diluted 3:1 for cleaning tires.

Poorboy's Natural Look claims to clean and protect, but I prefer to clean with a dedicated product first. A clean tire will allow the product to last a lot longer.

Or just sticky tape a round piece of cardboard the size of your rims.
