What do you think of this for a uniform?

I want something more than just a screen printed tee shirt and jeans or shorts.



A uniform that will stand out, be unique and eye catching as well as professional. What do you think about using these coveralls during the winter and cold weather? During the summer I will use the Dickies brand shorts and shirts. Everything will be embroidered with my company info and maybe some brands I use on the back side.



These do not have any exposed zippers or metal.



Maybe use a matching embroidered trucker hat for the whole attendant image?



What do you guys think?

I personally think you look much more professional with a shirt, pants, and of course a belt. Wearing overalls you simply look like a laborer, if you have a real uniform, you look much more presentable when selling your services.

I like the dickies and use some for my detailing clothes, but personally I think the coveralls are a little too much. Normally I detail in a nice embroidered polo and shorts or pants. I'd also stay far away from any sort of trucker hat. :nervous2:
 
I like the image of coveralls. I don't think it has to look greasy monkey or trashy if worn well. /shrug

LOL! Man, we are skilled laborers but laborers nonetheless. Sure some of us are also businessmen. But we are not white collar workers. ;)
 
Ya know, it's not a bad idea. BUT, don't do that blue....if it was a dark, dark navy, maybe. Personally, I think the gray in the picture to the right looks far better. In fact, maybe anything different than that blue would be good......I even like the bright colors they have under overalls. Sort of a racing suit theme. You can do the same custom embroidery.......and I'd have a contrasting hat. Otherwise, it's all to mono looking.



But, that's just my opinion..............I could be wrong. :)

I was thinking the same thing.
 
I wear what I think my customers would wear if they were doing their own cars.



A polo style shirt, Dickies double knee pants with the phone pocket for holding my polish, wax, tools, etc. a belt with no buckle - snap-on makes a good one, and Keen waterproof leather, low cut boots, and of course a baseball cap - worn with the bill in front because I'm way to old and way to pale to wear it any other way.



My colors are red and black and I wear the same thing every day. Takes the guess work out of it for me and my clients.

I use coveralls in the winter, has a BMW patch on one side and the MPOWER on the other side with my company name on the back. I own an M3 and do 85% BMW's so it works well and my customers love it lol
 
I typically don't have customers standing around watching me so I never worry about what I am wearing. 9 times out of 10 I don't even have sleeves!! I will wear a pair of shorts with a sleeveless tshirt while I work. When the customer comes to pick the car up I will clean up and change into a nicer pair of shorts and a tshirt with sleeves.
 
Years ago, we wore white coveralls with patches, name patches, and our logo. One customer said she hadn't seen anyone wear white coveralls since the time she was in Germany picking out her Merc. to import back to the US. I took that as a compliment.



If done right, they can be very nice and look clean.



I do not wear a belt due to risk of scratching paint with buckle.



Still working on new uniform myself.



Location and business climate should drive the uniform, not what others are doing on Autopia. If I was in Boston and working in the winter, I would not be in shorts like I can be here.



I do like the ol' school look. What about pink overalls and go with the Grease look? Big colors, slick the hair- it would certainly draw attention.

Bringin up a slightly old thread...I'll add...



As a wedding gift my wife and I received embroidered Coveralls that are very nice. The have out full logo front and back as well as our names. While they are very cool, I've not work mine yet. They are fitted and look good, so I am thinking about wearing it while valeting vehicles.



Normally, we wear Adidas All Tour polos (customized), Climacool Slacks, Adidas sneakers, no belt...all black. In the winter we have Northface company jackets and layer with a longsleeve Northface. And yes, we do have deals going with these companies....plus, as far as technical clothing goes....these companies make some of the best. Although, I am thinking of going with Craft.
 
I just got my new uniforms for this year! I am wearing black under armour polo's with dark blue jeans, with my under armour black and silver shoes. I am getting my logo and name embroidered on my polo's. For winter time I got me and my wife a 1/2 zip fleece with logo and our names on them as well.

Eventually I'll start wearing docker slacks, but not right now.
