What do you think of our site so far?

Its a cool site. I would add a few more pages, but I dont know what to add. What your doing is not advertising, only asking us to evaluate your website.

I like it. One thing I have noticed with many here and other sites with prices is that we are all very close in price :) I have had clients turn me down because they felt I was too high and they want a full detail for 50 bucks like a car wash place. I just tell them, thats fine ... but something to keep in mind is that they are geared for pumping out many cars where I am geared to spend quality time on your vehicle.

Man, if that Civic is an example of every engine detail you guys do then you can do my engine anytime. That looks great!

One thing I would suggest is a link to bring people back to the front page without having to back up. That would be very helpful.

If you click the logo you go back to the front page. ;)

And thanks for all fo the comments guys. I can not take credit for the site since my partner did it but I can take credit for a lot of the cars. ;)

So far we have not gotten any e-mail, it has all been word of mouth. We did not put a phone number down cause we do this out of my garage and I don't want business calls coming to my house. I think we are going to get a business vell phone soon though. That really is the best way.

I us a cell phone but I am thinking about adding the T-Mobile Sidekick to get e-mails. If you get a cell phone might want get it insure because I am alway droping mine.

Yeah, right now I have the T-Mobile Nokia 3650 and it is not working too good so I am sort of looking for a new phone.

I will check out that sidekick. Woudl be nice if my partner and I could somehow have seperate cell phones that use the same number so we can both get calls when they come in.

Just get a bluetooth headset and keep your phone in your pocket. ;) That works the best I think. Phones are phones and dropping them is part of the job. You don't want it on your belt while you are detailing anyway. It might rub against the car or something. Just getting it wet is bad enough... Anyway, that's my $.02 on phones.

I see the link now. I don't know why I didn't think of that before. :doh

Awesome logo.

The front is a bit "too white". Have you considered using Frames?

With the current layout, you could almost merge the front page with the gallary and have a button to take the viewer to the price list.

Also, I'm a fan of continuity (sp??). I'd suggest defining a style for the site and using it through out all of the pages.

I like the site. Especially the DANASE logo. That's very cool.

As you begin to add information, think about the benefits that your customers will get when they use your service. It's always good to stay focused on how your service benefits your customer.

Keep up the good work!

2001civicex, I'm replying here only as a consumer of detailing services, not as a fellow detailer. But personally, it just ticks me off to go to a website and find the homepage has absolutely no information beyond a logo and address. My comment would be that you find some comments/pix/info to add to the homepage.

Gorgeous logo, BTW. :up

What do you mean by "homepage" Because we have links to all of our pictures and prices.

civic,

Nice site:up

On the pictures I would try and crop them down a bit so the viewer is drawn to the car and not alot of "other stuff".

As far as phones go, do NOT pay for insurance as it is a huge rip off, IMHO. I have paid that $5 a month for years on all my phones and when I needed to replace a phone they still wanted me to pay like $30 PLUS I would not be given the same phone back but whatever they have "reconditioned" at the factory:down

Here is how most mobile phone companies work- At Sprint I have a year to return my phone and I have taken my present phone in twice now for problems and asked for another phone but they said both times they would "update the software" and this would take care of the problem. Same thing with my last Sprint phone, so after my year was up did they continue to suggest software updates when I had a problem? NOOooo, they then suggested I get a NEW phone! I now DEMAND a replacement phone of equal value on a floor model before my year is up if I have any problems and I never buy into phone insurance.

Just a heads up, keep up the great work.

Anthony

This is all I got when I clicked on the URL you posted above -- the logo and this text:

Click here for our price list

View our gallery of before and after pictures

Located in beautiful Downriver Michigan

To schedule a detailing appointment, email Bob or Brad.

Links to your price list and "gallery of pix" were on that page, but nothing else. The page itself had no photos to show off your skills, no basic info, not even a hint of what state/region you're located in. (Did I somehow get linked to a proto-version of your page and not the real one you're working on??)

In my own line of business, I often click on pages where the homepage makes me "click to enter" and it just always ticks me off. (No, I'm not saying that's a rational reaction on my part, but I have a hunch it's a human reaction, and probably represents a fair number of your potential customers.) All I meant to do was give you the first-impression of a typical overworked American who might click on a URL and not feel motivated to go further unless something on that first page "grabs" him/her with its appeal. I assume the real pros in this forum will give you more substantive comments on the other "layers" of your website.

Lynn,

That's an interesting observation. I too visited the site and just skipped right onto the other pages. Although I did have to look twice to see where the business was located.

I guess I was so impressed with the Danase logo that I really didn't consider that the home page. It seemed more like an intro page.

Personally, I like to see some of the basic questions answered on the home page. Such as, who? what? when? where? and why? That always helps to give someone a reason to further explore the site.
