What is your number one priority in an All-In-One Sealant?!

Durability- How long it will last?

Ease of Applicationn- How well it applies via hand or machine.

Ease of Removal- How easy it is to remove to a streak free finish.

Paint Defect Masking/ Filling Ability- How many defects are removed vs. hidden.

Protection- How well it withstands environmental challenges.

Non-Abrasive Cleaning Ability- How well it cleans the paint of oxidation or water spots without mechanical abrasion.

Paint Defect Removal Strength/Correction Ability- How severe of defects it is capable of removing.

Scent- How it smells.

Shine/Gloss-How reflective of a surface is left behind.

Slickness- How the finish feels after removal.

Water Beading- How well it beads/sheets water.

Since an AIO is meant to save time I would say protection #1.

Although correction would be important. Unfortunately I don't receive many candidates, except for the show cars. I tend to see last resort to repaints. lol
 
Do I smell a Blackfire AIO in the works?

I look for decent cut, but more so the gloss enhancement aspect. When I sell an AIO type package to a client I call it my Gloss Enhancement Package. I describe it to them by telling them that it will tone down the look of defects, make the paint slicker, enhance the gloss, and leave behind around 3-4 weeks of protection.

The type of person that would be interested in this type of detail is generally more than happy with that explaination and the after results.

An AIO is a great alternative to paint correction for people who really just dont care to spend a lot of time maintaining their paint to perfection, but still want it to look good.
 
Aren't durability and protection almost the same thing? I think you might get better results if you combined those two features.

For customer cars I would say durability. There are some AIO's out there that offer very good correction, but usually lack the durability of a true sealant. I would be happy with an AIO that could correct like D151/Poliseal, but also have the durability of BFWD/Powerlock. I'm no chemical engineer, so that may not even be possible, but if it was you would have a great product on your hands.

For my own personal car I would say shine/gloss. I say that becuase on my own car I never test the durability of products because I keep up with it on a very regular basis. So for that I would want the product that leaves it looking the best when all said and done.
 
That's a hard one for me to answer really as it varies depending on what I'm trying to achieve.

I voted "ease of removal", but "ease of use" would be a better answer for me really. Regardless of the task at hand, ease of use is always important, both application and removal.

I only use an AIO in less visible areas where I can save the time on my DD. I mostly use it in the door Jambs so I said correctability.
 
I'd like to have picked both ease of application & ease of removal, however I could only choose the one.

If I'm going to use an AIO, it better be user-friendly or I'd be using something else.

I agree, I just use the best overall product and to me that is poorboys!

And Todd you forgot to put the price range option on there:bigups
 
i look for some correcting ability with good shine/gloss,durability and ease of use.
i'll just wait for the new blackfire aio to come out. of course, it will include all of todd's list of attributes !!!
 
This is a tricky question, but i have to say shine and gloss. My reason is, if the product out shines all other products time and time again i think people will deal with other parts lacking. Personal use im willing to take more time with a product if the end result is crazy good. For all of you full time detailers how many people do you get that say " Hey man, do what gotta do, just make it shine". I always have people telling me " Its so clean and shinny".
The OCD enthusiast will apply a product more frequently in most cases regardless. The full time detailer might not be so happy if the product is finicky but if it delivers outstanding results and keeps customers returning i believe its worth it.:rockon
 
I have a hard time picking just one. I would like decnt correction ability but if it sacrifices gloss then I probably wouldn't want to use it much.

Like Time 2 Shine said, most say they want their car shiney and that's typically what I hear people say when they talk about a car. A true detailer looks at the defects
 
I was looking for an all of the above choice at the bottom of the list.

Since we can only pick one it has to be shine / gloss, that is what the customer is expecting and is going notice when they pick up the car. Whether it's a full detaill or an AIO application the bottom line for most is what does it look like.

I am not discounting the importance of the other items but since we had to choose only one it has to be the shine, IMO.
 
I'd say Shine/gloss and durability. Ease of removal is always good too, I hate using stuff that takes longer to remove than apply.
 
With an all in one product you're trying to kill several birds with one stone. You can usually do one thing really good but when trying to do several things really good too, something will usually not quite be up to par...usually. It doesn't mean that one thing is bad, it's just hard to be everything for everyone. That being said, I'm ok with one aspect of the product not being amazing and for me I'd be fine if the durability wasn't as long as say using a sealant on it's own. I think if we really think about it, if we could choose between a product that left AMAZING shine and gloss but it lasted a little shorter that a straight sealant, most would choose that over something with AMAZING longevity and not so good shine and gloss. Let's face it, the reward in detailing a car, at least for me, is seeing that amazing reflectivity at the end where the car looks like a mirror. We get off a LOT more when someone says holy crap how did you get that shine!?!?! opposed to holy crap water is still beading!!
 
Maybe this is just me, but I really don't put much stock in all in one products as great protection. AIO products are sort of like a Swiss Army knife. The screw driver is nice in a pinch, but if I'm building something then I'm going to grab a real screw driver. So my primary need in an AIO product is paint cleaning. If it will clean the surface and give me a good 'primer' for a real sealant, then that is good for me. If it offers a little protection while it is at it, then all the better, but the primary need for me is paint cleaning and surface prep on an already clayed and polished car.

So basically if it can take this:

Then I'm a happy camper. Gloss is nice, but most important is that it can handle the surface grunge.
