What do you have planned for your first "major detail" as soon as weather permits?

I completely understand how you feel Scott!! I'll usually go on weather.com to plan my appointments for the coming week...only to find out the day before I was scheduled to go out that the forecast has COMPLETELY changed!!! I swear meteorology is the one profession where you can be wrong 90% of the time and still get a Christmas bonus.

Mike

Day before? Here they can be wrong that morning about the afternoon!

1)PC with SEPC.

2)Zaino(wipe the dust off since I have not used it for months)

3)S100

4)Remove wheels and scrub 'em then Zaino 'em

5)Scour the wheelwells and use some Engine Kote

6)APC+ the engine, follow also with Engine Kote

7)Same to my GF's car

Poorboys Spray & Wipe, Swirl remover, polish, then a couple coats of EX. Perfection.

Well, "weather permits" the job starting today after work. 50-60's through next Wednesday with only possible showers on Saturday. This will be my next click and brag because my beater is a definite 5 footer. The goal is 5 inches and to do so:

Clay

DACP w/ yellow CMA pad

FP w/ orange pad

AIO w/ orange pad

SG w/ foam pad by hand for the next 4 nights.

Played with the Klasse powerhouse on the roof of a white car with three week old NXT and was blown away with the results. Used the WOO method for the SG and couldn't believe the difference in shine (albeit, not depth). This will be fun on my maroon beater--the hood especially is very shiny but looks almost oxidized up close (5" territory) in the center. Oh well, if I eat through the clear, that's why they call it a beater.

I'm gonna run around in shorts and flip-flops and rejoice that in fact it is warm enough to actually stand outside for more than 30 seconds without dying. Then I'm going to smile, and then I'll do something to my car. I haven't thought about it because if I do, it just makes me stew about how crappy it is.

well I just threw a coat of NXT on the blazer yesterday because I really needed to put SOMETHING on it and I figured, what the hell I'll give this another shot... I still will have to try it on a FULL (with polish) detail because I'm still not totally convinced with it.

That said, here's the plan:

- Dawn Wash (anyone know if dawn removes NXT?) and A2Z wheels/tires

- Clay Magic

- DACP

- Menz FP (will order.... use if needed)

- NXT x2

- S100 (if I don't like the look of NXT by itself, otherwise I may just leave S100 off)

- Zaino Glass Polish on all windows

- Dress tires with Regular Endurance

:xyxthumbs

as for the interior:

- Vacuum

- Wipe down all vinyl

- Spot-clean carpets, shampoo floormats

- Clean leather /w lexol pH

- Dress vinyl/plastic with NXT dressing (other stuff I must try)

- Dress leather /w leatherique (need to order yet)

- Zaino Glass Polish on all windows

- Zaino Plastic Polish on gauge lense

I just wish the weather would get better so I can clean my customer's cars, let alone my own car. :(

This morning, they were saying 60 and sunny on Saturday. Now one channel is saying 35 and snow, another is saying 37 and snow and the weather channel is calling for a wintery mix and 47. Idiots. :angry

- Dawn Wash (anyone know if dawn removes NXT?) and A2Z wheels/tires Why are you washing with Dawn if you'll clean it w/ DACP?

- Clay Magic

- DACP

- Menz FP (will order.... use if needed) Strongly recomend it!

- NXT x2

- S100 (if I don't like the look of NXT by itself, otherwise I may just leave S100 off)

- Zaino Glass Polish on all windows

- Dress tires with Regular Endurance

- Spot-clean carpets, shampoo floormats

- Clean leather /w lexol pH

- Dress vinyl/plastic with NXT dressing (other stuff I must try)

- Dress leather /w leatherique (need to order yet) Leatherique is not to dress but to treat. You should vacum the leather, apply Leatherique and let it under the sun for hours, letting it clean the leather. Then you clean the residues w/ Leatherique cleaner. No need to dress. If you want to skip this process, use Pinnacles Leather treatment to dress.

- Zaino Glass Polish on all windows

- Zaino Plastic Polish on gauge lense

What I've been trying (I've had spring time for the last couple of weeks anyway ;) )

On a section:

- Poorboys Pro-Polish to Clean the surface, PC w/ Megs yellow pad (it does squeaky clean!)

- Klasse AIO, PC w/ Megs tan pad

- Z1 followed by Z5. Z5 again the other day and Z2 at the 3rd day.

On another section,

- Menzerna IP, PC w/ Megs yellow pad

- Menzerna FP PO85U w/ Megs tan pad

- Z1 followed by Z5. Z5 again the other day and Z2 at the 3rd day.

(all this steps without Dawn or Z7 wash in the midle)

On other sections: NXT applied a couple of weeks ago, a coat of NXT spray wax last Saturday.

On the hood: Still AIO + 3 x SG + 2 x UPP + 2 x Souveran. (Still trying to find the time to wet sand, buff and all :shocked )

Well, hondaguy's right about the weather here is MI. It sucks!

But as soon as the sun starts shining and the snow melts:

1. Wash

2. Clay

3. #9 in some areas

4. Z6 QD all over

5. 3x Z5

6. 3x Z2

And maybe I'll get around to trying NXT, but from what I've seen I think I'll stick to Zaino.;)

***Hey, does anyone know when the new Zaino SMR product's getting out???*****Man, I've been waiting for that for over a year!! I can't wait anymore!!!:nixweiss

I don't think that the Zaino is going to bond to the AIO; it's only supposed to bond to bare paint, but let us know how it works out.

I'm washing it with dawn just because its an old-skool habit I can't seem to get rid of.... even though I know I could just wash with normal car soap.

:xyxthumbs

I know what leatherique is. But I guess if you want to play symantics games, go ahead :p

you're from Battle Creek? I didn't realize that.... :wavey with all these people I've been finding out about, we need to have a MI autopia meet!

Yeah, you and me both on the Zaino SMR... and at this point I think I'm in agreement with the nix on NXT... just something about it, I don't know.

Yes it bonds, in fact I learned this from other members that use it for some time.
