what do you guys use to dry your car to avoid water marks?

Well I use shade whenever possible when drying my car to avoid water marks !! :bounce

I use a Target brand knockoff Absorber "PVA Spongecloth" and have no problem with streaking on my non-clearcoated black non-metallic Miata.

I tried a CWB once, and made linear scratches on my car with it, and had to use the Absorber (clone) afterward anyway.

I don't see how you'd get streaking with it. But someone's comment about disliking that you have to wring it about six times...I have a tiny little car and I wring that thing out after each draw across the paint surface.

I think to really get bad streaking, maybe they are washing it with fabric softener or something. ???

I can't believe that after reading all those posts not one of you are using the P21s drying towel. I am on my 2nd one in three years and I wash my truck at least twice a month. They far outperform the absorber and are available at most motorcycle shops as the S100 drying towel. I haven't tried the microfiber waffle towel but am intrigued. How large are they? Do they hold much water when drying? I have two absorbers and they won't dry anything but my dirt bike. They left spots everywhere.

Koy, the P21S drying towel was the first chamois I bought since joining Autopia.... It's a good towel, but don't you think it's a little small? I guess that makes it a bit easier to handle, but I found that the small size slowed me down a little. I do agree that they're much better than the absorber though! It completely out-absorbs the absorber! :)

My favorite chamois was the Water Bandit....but of course, the WW pretty much rendered all chamois obsolete for me.

You won't be disappointed with the WW. The ultimate drying towel sold on Autopia is 25x36" (same as the one on CMA, I think) and with a SINGLE towel, I can easily dry my Honda Civic without wringing and *just about* completely dry my wife's BMW (including door/trunk jambs)...provided I properly sheet most of the water off when rinsing.
