What do you guys use insted of Rain-X?

People who look at my windows always say 'Man, you've got RainX on there?!?...How come it's not hazy/streaky/reflective like mine?'

I just smile and say 'H3ll if I know...I just follow the directions on the bottle...'

This is what I do for first app...

Clean window

apply RainX (overlapping circular motions, blah, blah) with old TShirt

Let dry (high humidity in my area...I give it several hours)

apply RainX (overlapping circular motions, blah, blah) with same TShirt

Let dry (again waiting several hours...usually overnight if possible)

Remove with two wads of paper towels...one slightly damp (which does the majority of removal) and the other dry (for the finished crystal appearance)

Final window cleaning

That's it! Has worked perfect every time for my and my customers cars for years...

tort, is this the product that is professional use only?

thx.

I just apply rain-x to all the windows and let it dry. After it dries I spray water on it and wipe it dry with a mf. comes out streak and haze free for me

Aquapel is awesome.

I used to use Rain-X, but like some others said, I could never get rid of all the streaky stuff.

My local auto body supply shop turned me on to Aquapel. It's about $6, in a one-time use applicator. This one container does both my windshield and backlight. Lasts for months and months.

Well, theoretically, yes. But, you almost always see applicators for sale on eBay, and I can think of a couple of websites where you can buy an applicator for about $10. Since I do some cars for $$$ on the side, and I have a number of family members' cars that I wanted to treat, I found a distributor and bought a case of 24. Bought by the case, they go for about $4.00 (I think it was $88 + shipping, or something like that).
