What do you guys think? Meg's QD on interior glass?

Weekend Detailer!
See quoted text below from one of my other forums.

What do you guys think of using Meg's QD on the interior glass?

Would there be long term effect of doing this? Buildup etc?

This is the first I see that someone uses this method for the interior glass... I'm not so sure I would go with this method...

Your thoughts?

You hate doing windows right?
You hate doing the interior glass 2, 3, 4 times to get the chemical residue-haze off?

Why not get them so crystal clear you just sit there and stare at them...with one pass, with something that is probably already in your kit?

Sure you could mix your special concoction, buy that $5 cleaner etc., but why?

Today I detailed the girl's Mazda3, and her windows haven't been done since I did them last...Fall '06 maybe?

I used to wax the outside windows and that always got them nice, but you can't really wax the inside...or can you...

Quick Detail requires 1 pass wet, buff dry and is guaranteed not to streak...and that's exactly what it did to her windows, both sides....crystal clear, 1 pass wet, buff dry with micro fiber cloth, 1 cleaning...crystal clear, beautiful windows\mirrors!

I've never tried a wax or a QD on my windows, but then again I've never felt the need to. A good glass cleaner and technique will make windows streak free every time.

Audi, yeah I feel the same way... This guy isn't a detailer at all... He just tried it and thought it gace good results.

RT, yep! I did mention that in the thread!

I know where he's coming from. I just don't see the need to try to create new detailing myths/secrets when there is already a very good process that is rediculously cost effective out already.

I haven't tried the Meg's QD that way, but Mothers Showtime is excellent on glass! (And it can double as an air freshener - cinnamon... mmmm!) :D

Exactly what I said... Not like IG and other window cleaners don't work!

I use Adams Detail Spray on all glass and have found it to be faster and easier than IG and leaves the glass completely streak free. Not all QDs I have tried work as well, but I haven't tried Meguiars' yet.

What the heck - I'll try it this weekend. I am an adventurous spirit ... to go, where no man has gone before (or not many)...

I would actually see the Megs QD work well on glass... It's works well while claying... I guess the cleaning agent in it work well on glass.

Not all work but some do.
Some times at a show I use just a touch of Dri-Wash on my windows and it leaves a shine that NO glass cleaner can do.

If you use it and get caught in a rain the windshield acts like it has rainX on it and since I never did like rainX I don't care for this either but I do use it for that purpose when I go up against some top notch cars.

I don't think I would use QD on the inside if you have the film tint
Yesterday I detailed my Black ranger with the new M135 and after doing the paint I used the MF towel that I used to wipe the135 off the paint and polished the windshield.
The glass was already clean but I could see the difference after using the QD
If you have not tried the new Meguiar's 135 this stuff is very good :bigups

For those detailing for a living you would not want to spend the time but I'm retired and have plenty of time and while doing my own vehicles I'm wanting to do as good a job as possible.
At a show nearly all cars are looking awesome and it is those little things that separate you from the herd.:winner:

I regularly use Adam's QD on the inside of my film tinted windows. Never had a problem with ANY car that I've ever done. I like to use the QD on the inside of the windshield as well. It is less streaky for me than glass cleaner.

Ammonia is what you want to worry about when you're messing with film tint. I dont think any of the QD's that people on these forums are using have ammonia in them. I'd imagine ammonia wouldnt be great for an LSP either.

I'm well aware of the damage that ammonia can do
I think most people have heard about not using ammonia.

It is the things that I don't know that worries me.
I know that a QD is about 90% water but what the other 10% is that concerns me.

It is good to know that you have seen NO damage with Adams and perhaps all others would be ok also but at this point it has not been proven.
I think I will just stay with a product designed for that use.
I recently paid $ 230.00 to have one of my vehicles tinted not brave enough to see what it takes to ruin it.

I am leery of any QDs on the window interior for the same reason that I posted in Charles's thread about treating the inside. I have been sticking to either sprayway or window glo glass cleaner on the inside. I will use a QD on the outside without hesitation.

J don't be that way:lol2:

no really, just be careful of PD's, alcohol or amonia in QD's ... all the rest should be ok ;)
