What do you guys think about this Buffer?

Help me out here, guys...



I'm looking at the CMA kit for the PC - and it almost looks to me like I won't use too many of these pieces (which doesn't mean it's a bad kit - just that I might be better off going a la carte).



I've got two cars I'll be using the PC on - a dark red 94 Honda Accord and a white 02 ML320. Obviously, I'll need the more aggressive pads for the red Honda, and something gentle for the ML320.



Is there anything in the kit that I should specifically avoid using on the ML320? Seems like the word 'aggressive' gives me the fits :-) Now, if they had something called the 'gentle bunny foam pad' - that I could go for.



Also - is this going to be sufficient for removing SG and wax from the car? Or should I be looking at picking up the Viper MF bonnet. Not that I'm thinking of removing all the SG/wax from the surface with a machine, just the parts that require a little effort (lazy, fat %*!%&!).

As far as your ML320, I would avoid using the Lambswool pad since this is quite aggresive. I did use this on my old Honda since I was experimenting on buffing out the scratches on the hood. Overall, it has it's uses but just be careful when using it.
 
The kit is a good thing.



The white polishing pads (2) can be used on both your honda and new ML 320.



The yellow cutting pad and lambswool cutting pad can be used on the older honda.



The terry bonnets aren't much use, except if you have those 15 inch ML wheels in which I found success using the terry bonnets to apply Klasse AIO to them.



The viper bonnets with the PC can be used to break the dried residue, then follow up with a towel to remove the rest.



I think bigboyhf uses the technique of applying the wax, removing, then going over the car with a Viper bonnet and PC with a spritz of carnauba detail spray to bring out the max. shine in the car.

If you go ala carte you'll likely end up spending more $$ for fewer accessories.



I bought the CMA kit when I bought my 7424. But I've been also buying extra pads and such to expand my inventory.



The backing plate I just bought cost me $19.00. Two Meguiar's yellow pads cost $13.00 each. Three pieces, $45.00. If I add in the soft grey pad and the aggressive orange pad I just bought ($15.00 each) now I'm up to $75.00 in ala carte pads. And all they'll do is augment the CMA kit I already have.



Do I need all these pads and plates? Maybe. But I'd rather have more pads than not enough. I say start with the kit and see how all the pieces work for you. Then add pieces as necessary.
 
it is a 7" Velcro Pad, but I read that 7" Velcro Buffer Pads are for 6" Velcro Polishers. Does a 7" Velcro Pad like Meguiar's Soft Buff Pads fit in this buffer?

Looks like the Vector Polisher we use to sell, lots of folks got them and found no problem with them.
 
lol... I'm used to heavy tools and heavy items. I think Voltage might be 110 since 240 is Europe Voltage and this I bought in United States
 
I can't say yet but I doubt it. I've used Makita before and I'm sure Makita works better but as far as I know and all the reviews I've read about this one... is a good deal, specially when I bought this for $69.99 and $10 S/H and that compared to Makita, there's a difference in price.
 
Can anyone tell me what buffer pad can I use on it? I've been looking for the Meguiars Soft Buff and I've found 8" Velcro Pads and there's the Soft Buff 2.0 but it doesn't say is velcro, so I don't know if that fits in it, also, they are 7" and my backing plate is 7" diameter. Help please

Do you have any other buffers and pads? If you do get a different backing plate that will allow you to use those pads. I did that with my 3401 and my hitachi rotary. I bought the Megs w66 backing plate for the rotary to allow me to use 6.5 pads with both my flex and rotary. It has saved me money and the smaller pads are much easier to use with a rotary IME
