What do these 3M products do

So I have some 3M stuff that I've had for a while and I want to know if they are any good. I bought them a while ago when I was doing some paint work on a car.

I have a quart of imperial microfinishing compound 06011 and Perfect it II rubbing compound 05973.

These seem to be for the exact same purpose, a medium cut polish so what the heck is the difference, and how do they compare to a chemical guys, poorboys or xmt light or medium cut polish.

I also have Imperial hand glaze 05990, is this similar to other glazes I see at the online shops.

I plan on getting a PC soon and want to know if I can use some of the products that I have.

Thanks for the help yall

filler?? as in, filling in scratches and stuff like that??

Yeah, that's the big thing about IHG. It's ok to use on a fresh repaint too.

The numbers of your other products are a little different from the 3M stuff I've used, sorry I can't help with those.

But check the bottle of that PI-II RC...my PI-II Fine Cut Rubbing Compound (pn 39002 in the 16 oz. bottle) contains silica, not something you'd want to breath.

forker- 3M makes so many different products that I don't think it's all that weird that nobody here has tried those specific ones.

General rule: if you can use it by hand, you can use it by PC. Do the abrasives in these break down OK by hand? If so, then you can use them by PC. The only 3M medium strength products I've used that qualify are PI-II FCRC, PI-III RC, and Finesse-It (forget the actual name/number).

I'm a little surprised that the imperial microfinishing compound 06011 isn't milder than that, but then I don't know anything about it :nixweiss

Perfect It II has a stronger cut quality than the others but is still pretty fine. The abrasive is a reducing abrasive that breaks down as you use it. Its very fine.

Imperial Microfinishing has very small but uniform abrasives combined with a filler material for small wisp scratches and is good with the PC using a medium foam pad.

The Imperial Glaze is all resin filler and can be used with the PC as a finish before wax. Its basically going to hide fine swirls and twilight scratches.
