What differences would there be between PWC or PWC with Coat of EX-P

Hey,
What are some of the advantages of the following processes.

Using PWC or
PWC with EX - P or
PWC with Natty's or
PWC with EX-P then a coat of Natty's?

The PWC sounds pretty easy to me .. but I'm wondering about the protection and shine compared with one of the other routines .. or is all this a matter of personal preferences as the way the finsihed product looks.

I am a newb at detailing as I usually only have used waxes like Tutrle Wax or whatever is at the store... please show me the way.

I have a Midnight Blue PT 2004 Cruiser that sits outside all the time in Sunny Northern California.

Thanks

:welcome Wookie,

I'd say you are making a nice choice with the Poorboy's line of products. The PwC is an excellent product. It does a great job if cleaning up the paint and removing minor swirls. PwC is the last product you use before the sealant and topper. The EX-P is another great product you will enjoy. EX-P is a pure sealant without Carnauba in it. It will leave a clear, semi wet reflection. The EX-P also offers some good durability, and a great look. Topping EX-P with Natty's is like the icing on the cake. Natty's is a very wet, clear Carnauba wax which is a breeze to use! I would use the PwC as a last step before Ex-P, then top it with Natty's and prepare to be amazed!

Sunny Northern California huh, I haven't seen the sun in about a month!:D I'm in Fair Oaks, Sacramento area. What about you?

Thanks for the advice. I've been reading this froum for a couple of weeks now and just trying to digest some of the information that is so freely passed around. Very helpful bunch of enthusiasts in this forum. I have seen some pics of your Cobra and it is very nice. My PT Curiser is the darker midnight or Patriot Blue, but the shine on your Cobra is what I was looking for.
I have been struck by paralyis by analysis .. First I was going to use Maguires NXT .. then Zaino ... then DWG .. the Klasse ... now Poorboys seems to fit the bill ... and I almost orderd some but now which one yto try first ...
Sounds like I should get all. Maybe wait a week in between each so I can appreciate what each finish does for my car.
Wash Car ... dry .... then PWC ... EX-P ... then Natty's

I live in Sunnyvale Ca ... and it was soooo wet over the holidays and now the fog the past week but it is nothing like the Tule Fog you guys get out in the valley ... seems like all the time this time of year.
I have in-laws that live in Elk Grove

It's very easy to get lost in the world of detailing. There is so much to be learned, and so many different opinions. I was once where you are, and now I don't worry so much! Just kind of take it in, and after a while you just kind of fall into place and get the hang of it!

As far as product advice. I would need to know what you are looking for. If your paint is a little bit darker than my Cobra, you may want to try EX wCarnauba before Ex-P. The EX has some Carnauba in it and would enhance the deepness and wetness of the paint. The EX with Natty's as a topper would be my choice over the EX-P and Natty's. Here some pics of a detail I did on Friday, I didn't top it with Natty's, but it shows some the power of EX.

Wookie you have a great question...being that this is a very subjective matter in terms of looks, you have to remember that this as well as most detailing boards are filled with people looking for the ultimate look for their vehicles and the ones they detail.
Using PwC by itself will "WOW" most of the people you would meet on the street or your friends, but on these boards a little more "bling" is very important. That's where experimenting with different combos is going to give you a little more "gloss", or a "wet look", a bit more clarity, or a little more depth to the finish.
Every color will have its best combo and every user will get slightly different results depending on the prep and the products used during prep.
I personally have used only PwC through an entire winter after prepping it and my dark green Tahoe looked great and still beaded after a NY winter. Will everyone get the same results and satisfaction ...I doubt it...

Thanks for the encouragment and advice Cobra ... looks like you were busy this weekend.
I tore apart an oven range and hood fan and cleaned that up and got it all the wiring and fans working again .. ughh that was not fun. I did watch the football games though on Sunday.

... and thanks PoorBoy for your advice..

I think I will go with a coat (or two) of PWC then wait a week or so and see how it goes then do the EX coat (or two) and see how that goes and then do a coat or two of Natty's.
