Sunday evening.

Too warm (94) to do outdoor chores so I washed my Fusion with new sea sponges. I'll do a review when I have a dirty car to wash.

The sea sponge experience was very different in a positive way.

Since the car was not dirty, I did a sheet rinse and began the washing process, not rinsing again until entire car was soaped, again using self-made hose end adapter to sheet rinse.

Amount of water used: 13 gallons. 3 gallons wash bucket, 3 gallons rinse bucket and 7 gallons total for pre rinse and final rinse.

Towel dried with medium plush MF towel with Hydro as lubricant/wax.

Full Detail + OC PRo on a Ford F150 super cab. in Ruby Red.

Only 200 miles on it.

Full Decon (CG CWC + Megs APC+ / Ultima Clay Block / IronX & TRIX / Eraser / ONR wipe down)
1 step polish (HD Polish / Rupes15 / LC White Flat)
OC Pro

15 hours and I'm exhausted.

Daughter came home from school a couple weeks ago on Wednesday, left Thursday afternoon for internship in Az. Left her car (VW Beetle that has been parked outside at school all year) at home. So after having it parked in the driveway a couple weeks, I couldnt stand to look at the dirty thing. So started with a wash and decon Friday, pulled my car out and put hers into the garage for a two step polish and seal on Saturday and Sunday. I've got over 10 hrs into it and still need to polish and seal wheels and do the interior.

Finished up a 21006 Kenthworth. Red. Flat as can be. Came out nice but starting to fade back out. have to polish it out and wax it more often than i want to. Also have to get some Iron X & Tar X for the back of the sleeper. what a mess

SO I had a 2013 Buick Regal to detail this weekend... I learned my lesson, always see the car before telling them how much and how long. This car HAD to be back at his work by 4pm, and I didn't pick it up till 11am. It was just suppose to be a simple wash, polish, and protect detail. Well, even though it was a 2013 it was TRASHED. Get this, I spent the at least an hour claying the car. Seems the factory did a real number on this Buck, COVERING it in overspray. The pic below was literally just a 1/4 of the trunks worth of claying. It was so bad, I had to worry about just completing it as a whole. I couldn't spend as much time on everything as I wanted too. I did manage to get it done though, just wish I had more time. Of course the paint even after a good polishing still had some deep scratches. BUT due to time and budget I couldn't touch them all. That paint really did a number on my pads.

Since I went on a road trip and did some clay target shooting the club is on about 3 miles of gravel round trip and another 5 days of dust I decided since it was late and didn't want to drag out the buckets, hose, etc I stopped at a car wash and threw in a couple bucks into the meter. Great no soap but at least they used warm water, not sure it helps, but it got the thick layer of dust off. Drove the other 9 miles home and parked in the garage. Did a quick detail and put a another coat of BFCS on. Just got done and getting on the dark side out so didn't take any photos.

Dean. :rockon

Very strenuous and long day detailing today...I sprayed some of the new Chemical Guys Purple Stuff grape soda scented air freshener on the carpets of my truck. :D

Cleaned the bug spattered windshield again.
0000 steel wool followed by Sprayway.
Cleaned the wiper blades with alcohol swabs.

Sanded right through the clear coat trying to fix a rock chip. :( Forgot that I had worked the same area years ago for a previous repair and after a few swipes with 2000 grit paper, BAM! dark spot appears. And it couldn't be in an out of the way spot. NO! Had to be toward the top of the right front fender and is one of the fist things I see walking in to the garage.

Probably will have to have the area spot repaired and the whole fender cleared now. :(

I cleaned up the daily driver after the recent trip to Virginia.

Paint washed with Blackfire WD Conditioning Shampoo with PMBG chenille mitt, dried with PakShak WW Towel. Jambs wiped down with Mothers Showtime

The paint has Menzerna Power Lock topped with Blackfire Midnight Sun. The water still sheets well so a breeze to dry.

Glass:
Exterior: Sprayway with new Carpro glass towel
Interior: Meg's D120 Glass Cleaner with a Poorboys glass towel

There really is no secret to these glass towels. They are either a no nap towel or some variation of a chamois (Absorber). They both worked fine. The Carpro is a little grabby on dry glass so wrapped it around an application so it would not roll as you wiped.

Wheels and wells cleaned using Blackfire soap used on paint (did them last) since I wanted paint dry before sun came over trees. Chrome Wheels blinged with Mothers Spray Wax

Tires cleaned with Mothers Back to Black Tire Renew and dressed with Mothers Reflections Tire Care.

Interior vacuum with mats cleaned with Mothers Carpet and Upholstery Cleaner

I spent two days on the Fusion.

Prep All
CG Clear
M205 Polish using DI White Pad.
IPA Wipe down
Prima Epic (2 coats) 24 hours apart. Used Prima Hydro to spit shine each coat.
LSP - Fuzion (24 hours later)

Spiffy! Slick! Sunshine bright!

Dressed tires with Mother's Back to Black Tire Shine. Two coats, each buffed after 10 minute dwell times. Respectable.

Something I learned from the Pro Blog.

Soak pads & applicators in CG Clear wash solution for 30 minutes, then rinse and squeeze. Nice and clean.

I'll take a pic when the sun is out and no risk of rain.

Washed my 2012 Kia Sorento with ONR. Put a coat of Pinnacle Souveran Liquid. Looks very good- first time doing a whole vehicle with it.

Cleaned up my sister's Toyota Prius

Wash with DG901
Wipe down with OCW
Wheels cleaned with Poorboys Spray and Rinse
Tires dressed with Stoners MSLT
