yes, pc gets extremely hot near on the velcro part! i took a pad off a pc once after excessive usage at speed 6, and that thing was shorching hot! i also have had many meguiar pads backings melt off the pad and shrunk into a size of a softball! never had a problem with the rotary as i have the same pads for many months now and even throw them in the washer to clean them.
not bashing or anything because i learned my lesson not to do this here but i had used the 4" ccs pads on a rotary and the edges went bad on the first car i did. still usuable but it looked pretty torn up and didnt seem like it'll last long. they need to do a better job rounding off the corners of those little pocket holes around the edges of the pad.
