What Detailing Vehicle To Choose

After reading this it sounds more like you want a new truck and are using your new business as a reason to get it, instead of needing a vehicle to do the job. :D Van's are a really good option for a business. They move the driver closer to the front and have way more room in the rear. You might not even need a trailer. They can be had for dirt cheap too since no one seems want them.

No, I do not like trucks or driving trucks, but I'll have to have one to do detailing on the level I will be doing it and if I have to drive a truck then I want it to look good and be a nice one. Plus it will be my everyday vehicle now as well so it has to be a nice one.:hifive:

I think I will get a full size gutted van once things are up and kicking, but not right now.

I agree totally. When I was looking for a truck it couldn't be just any old thing to get the job done. I actually stumbled upon the one I ended up buying on my first search. '06 Tundra with 2200 miles. Mint condition.

Plus, I feel it could only help attract new clients if you have a nice truck that you keep in pristine condition. It shows pride of ownership and clients will be more inclined to feel their car will get the same treatment. Not to mention, it could serve as an invaluable advertising tool but you had better keep that thing spotless. Just my.02.

I agree. I've had my van for two years and the only other vehicle I would settle for is a service-side. My van is in excellent shape, interior is very well organized and clean and all of it is very secure. I have clients and passerbys comment on it all the time. More-so than when I was detailing out of an imaculate Black 4Runner. M2¢

i plan on getting a toyota pickup, or maybe one of their SUV's.... they have proven durability and reliability, hold their value very well, and are japanese so most parts should be decently priced i would think

I think I will start out in the truck......but once I'm going stronger I'll need to get a full size van too as I think it will be to my advantage.

I choose the Dodge Ram but I think anything with a V-8 will be good. Had no problems towing all my stuff and the trailer. Just sucked a lot of gas but thats because I stay busy so I guess I can't complain. I just bought a E150 7months ago and love it over a trailer.

Why won't you go for one of the smaller trucks that has either a 4 or 6 cylinders. You're not going to carry heavy stuff if you're using it for a detailing business and it will get good gas mileage.

Cause I'd rather have the available power since sometimes I'll be hauling a car back to the garage for a premium, multi day detial.:buffing:
