ok, i need to pick up a light so i can check the paint after working on it, but dont know how powerful the light has to be, or if a light can be too powerful.

suggestions?

one of the most common spotlights to detect paint imperfections is the brinkmann, which can be bought at your local pepboys for around $30...

yep, look in the aisle where they have the other spotlights. they'll have some different spotlights displayed (this being one of them) out of the package, and there will be some right below in the package to purchase...

I recently bought a similar looking Brinkman that has a single LED lamp and a larger halogen lamp that can be switched to either one you want to use. Is the duel LED better as exposing paint imperfections?
