What can proper car care do for my car?

Many potential clients may have the attitude that just going through the local car wash is just fine for their car, besides the dealer told them that their car never had to be waxed, right?



Well sadly a few years down the road their car looks like crap and they wonder what happened or how can they fix it? Well many times the steps they take now are too little and too late so when a potential client has this outlook I always mention this Acura NSX I have been doing for awhile now. Here are a few pics first....

Once again nice work! Silver can be tricky and a good wax combo can really make it look as if the silver is floating under the clearcoat. :bow :xyxthumbs

If this car happens to be near me when I am talking to them I ask them to guess the age of this car? They are very surprised to find out the NSX is 12 years old and has almost 200,000 miles on it!!:shocked



I have taken care of it since day one and the owner of the car just loves the car and will never sell it but rather drive it into the ground. he is very pleased with how it looks and has been kept up. Sure it has its rock chips, some scuffs on the wheels and a few dings here and there but for a daily driver I think it looks amazing for the years and the miles.



So when a potential client balks at car care show them up close what proper car care CAN do for them and their car.

Jesus H Christ! You got to be kidding it's that old/mileage!



What are you using to keep all the aluminum so clean?



I had to switch from th EK to 303 in there as the EK spotted. However, using a foam paint brush resolved that problem. Underside of the SC looks new with EK all over it. Just wash the car and underside, let dry and treat as needed. Works so well in wheel wells as it doesn'y p/u dust as other dressings.



DAMN FINE JOB!

Sorry, I forgot to mention what I used on the NSX.



I used Hi-Temps "Power Cut" first to take care of a few scratches and then I went over the paint with Light Cut and my Cyclo.



Vanilla Moose by hand and then topped it with P21S.



Another point that I like to make using this car as a study case is the question of clear coats and thinning them by too much polishing/waxing. Over the 12 years I have been caring for this car it has been waxed at least every 6 weeks for the last 12 years and buffed and polished at least once or twice a year for the last 12 years and the clear coat is still in great condition.



One rear panel has been repainted as has one side view mirror and the lower front end also. Other than that as far as I know it is original paint.

Dean, I use "Best Dressed" on the engine this time around and I always use Rolite for the metal polishing.

Nice! Anthony, you say the car is a daily driver. I assume that it's garaged at night. What about during the day? Does it sit out in the open, or is in parking garage or cover?

It is garaged at night and spends the majority of the day in Dr.'s parking garage. Obviously this plays a huge role in the cars appearance also as the hot suns, especially here in South Texas, heat is not cooking the paint.
