What can I put over Opti-Seal

Good to know. Unfortunately once winter gets here I also need road salt protection. I use ONR all the time for washes , but am a OPT sceptic since I have not had good luck with their products in the past .

Looks great topped with OCW

OCW does look great even as a stand alone , just has NO durability what so ever . IMO it washes off as easy as it goes on . It will help washing with ONR but if u use any type of detergent wash or your customer goes to a carwash it's all gone . I love it on my black truck , but even after 2 washes it looked like it was never waxed .

While I realize this has been YOUR experience with OCW, myself and many others have noted the opposite to be true. For a spray wax, it has better durability than most in MY experience, in fact equal or greater than some carnaubas. Others have mirrored this finding. I've noticed that every time OCW is mentioned, you tend to use pretty absolute terms, as if your experience is the ultimate test of this product's durability. Please don't take this as an argument, but I don't want anyone to overlook what many feel is an outstanding product over one person's opinion.

Maybe so we can better understand what you've seen, please explain what washes you use and what you consider a "detergent wash." If you're speaking of something like Dawn, or a heavy cleaning shampoo like CG Citrus Wash, these would compromise most LSPs after a couple of uses and aren't a good choice for a maintenance wash. Perhaps there is something we're missing here! :peace:

my results have been similar to mikenap's. i got a friend started on onr and ocw for his silver truck. he washes it every two weeks or so and applies the ocw every two months or so. ocw would probably lasts longer he just doesn't let it go that long.

I just finished my semiannual care session with LSP OS for the first time instead of the usual FK1000p.

I am thinking of topping up with a carnauba. More specificaly the S100 carnauba paste wax. Has anyone tried this combo? Thoughts?

He he he, and I was thinking of topping my existing carnauba with OS this Fall when I get it. I wonder, what ,if any difference it will make since I understand you can top waxes with it.

I get decent durability from both OCW and OS. In fact, after my first Maxima got totaled, it sat over a month before insurance picked it up. I had waxed it with OCW in December, accident was in January and my car sat outside 24/7 for another 5 weeks, continually hit by rain, sleet, freezing rain and snow and in the end was still beading nicely. In addition it still looked good enough that both my insurance the the insurance company of the drunk scum that hit me both checked off that my car's paint was in dealer ready condition.

Acc, I didn't want to go off topic that's why I didnt say anything on OS vs FK or about my session.

I plan to do a write up when I will have topped up also with the wax, so that I can include comments also on OS dirt shedding, before and after photos with the wax etc.

Just curious, since the base would be carnauba wouldn't it kill the durability of OS? I was thinking that OS might be good for a couple months, but the carnauba significantly less.

In this case it would be on a garage queen so Im really shooting for looks and something new to add for the sake of it.

Look for something with no abrasives in it. If you feel the urge to top it Souveran and 845 comes to mind as far as waxes. Poxy is my farorite sealant.
