What browser are you using?

yes it does have tabs but will not set them up the way I need them. I generally have at least 8-10 tabs open in one window, side by side under the url window. at work I may have 20 open for my tasks that require internal or external web based programs. my co-workers and I have tried Firefox and it is ok but it needs to more * tab fiendly* for * me * hey anything beats IE :wall

Not to be argumentative here but, Firefox is about as friendly as you can get. Here is an image of my desktop with 9 tabs right below the URL just as you describe. Maybe you haven't tried the latest version of Firefox, it is up to 1.5.

Can you really call Maxthon a browser? If I am not mistaken, isn't it just a shell for IE? Does it eliminate all the vulnerabilities and problems with IE?

Speaking of IE, has anyone seen the beta 2 of IE 7?? I downloaded it yesterday to give it a try and removed it a few minutes later. It looks pretty good but, still too many bugs for me. Unfortunately, there are still things I need to use IE for. By the way, IE7 will only run on XP with SP2.

FireFox and Opera. FireFox is faster, I believe it is because Opera is loading a mail client at the same time. Fox also seems to be faster page to page. Opera's email client needs a little work also. Thunderbird has worked well for an email client. With the exception of those programs that use IE's shell I never open IE or Outlook.

FireFox on the PC, safari on the new Mac. I will download FF for the Mac soon. Just cann't get used to Safari.

For everyone using IE...I would bet 99.99% that you would not beleive the difference it makes to get something besides IE. Whether it be Firefox or Opera or ??? IE is just flat bad...

I do not have the latest version of FF. they must have made an upgade to the tabs. the way you showed it is the way I prefer it. might give it a try but Maxthon has been faster head to head with FF in the past. guess I will have to test them again. I have had no issues with spyware or trojans or any other issues that IE users have had. I have had so many many tabs at work with web based progams and this browser has been the most stable. if it handles what I throw at it at work it is fine for my home use. . being in the IT field I prefer to be more concerned about how my router settings and ports of the PC are configured. never said FF was bad did I ? thanks for the screenshot will give the newer version a try. I am always willing to try new and improved things for my PC. thanks also for the review of IE 7. looks like I will not be too impressed with that.

Firefox for everything (but windowsupdate of course)

Years ago, I was a big fan of Netscape 2 up to 4.7. Everything they did after that was too slow until the Mozilla team showed up.

Firefox 1.5.0.1

I'd try Opera but I'm happy with FF. I didn't like TBird when it first came out; the spam/junk filter was too aggressive and I couldn't find where to tweak it. Is it better now? I kept the Mozilla for email & news.

I've heard some websites incompatibility with Safari, have you noticed anything? Maybe it's the Windows version, I don't recall if that was the case.

Anyway, I've been using Firefox for a long time now (since pre-1.0).

I haven't had any problems so far, I have read though that the Windows version has some bugs like you mentioned.
