Ive been using Opera for 2 weeks now after reading a previous post you made about it - Im never goin back to internet explorer....opera truly is faster especially when your running on a wi-fi network at a library or college campus Thanks Scott!! :dance Now I can visit autopia while im in class at a faster speed :grinno:
Using IE right now I tried fox & Opera both seem fast, Opera really loads the text fast but IE loads pic's faster so it’s a draw. (56k) Running res. 1280X960 w/ a Sony 21" LCD screen, one gig of mem. Win XP.
I remember about 20 years ago using Netscape using Win 3.11 OS using a 386 computer 150 meg HD. The internet back in these days had no advertising and my home page was listed first in Yahoo! 10 years ago I was into gaming Monster truck madness & being on a team SYR’s & kicking @$#
Advance Browser. Do not know about speed but it has one little plus that I did not see on IE. That is you can few one, two, three, or four screens at once. This is a very nice feature if you want to do comparison shopping or look at different pictures simultaneously. My IE did not have that option. Does Firefox or Opera have that option?
Firefox. I'm just too used to the keyboard shortcuts for tabs Ctrl+T, also the quick searches in the bar where I can type "wp [keyword]" and get a wiki search easily.
I've tried opera, but I had issues with embedded media.
Firefox, but sometimes the pages I visit don't load right and I use IE then. I have Opera too (the full version) that I got for free when I saw a promotion on CNet.
I am using Maxthon. it is like Firefox but allows you to use tabbed browsing so that I can have a bunch of tabs open while using one window. suprised more people are not using it. faster than Firefox for me , same security, :getdown user friendly :getdown
^^Firefox has tabbed browsing in 1 window as well.
I use FF all the time. When I first started using it over a year ago, 1 in 100 pages I would have to open IE for. Now though, I don't think I've opened IE in 6 months. Everything about it is superior to IE.
Back when I was trying to get out of IE, I tried Opera and a couple others as well...Firefox won easily for me and I haven't looked back.

yes it does have tabs but will not set them up the way I need them. I generally have at least 8-10 tabs open in one window, side by side under the url window. at work I may have 20 open for my tasks that require internal or external web based programs. my co-workers and I have tried Firefox and it is ok but it needs to more * tab fiendly* for * me * hey anything beats IE :wall
