What am I missing?

I am just wondering what you guys do for keeping every tidy in your trunks. I have a small air compressor kit, jumper cables, gloves, scrapers (yes, we have snow in Canada), and rags and various cleaning supplies in my trunk. The cables and the compressor are in boxes, but the other things are all kind of loose in there. The biggest problem I have is that the toolboxes and other boxes just slide around in the truck and whack into the sides of the trunk when I come to a hard stop, or go around corners, as I drive quite "enthusiastically";)

So, what do you think I should do, try to get a big rubbermaid tub to keep everything in? Or a rubber mat? Other suggestions?

While I was looking through a BMW parts catalog, I saw something that got my wheels turning, which might help you. The product was a Velcro CD holder, for trunk mounted CD players. It was a regular case that would hold CD's, but the cool thing was that it velcroed to the floor of the car. It would stay in place, and keep from moving around.

I have a few items in my trunk (umbrella, ice scraper, and sun shade), that move around from time to time. I then realized the power of velcro. You can go to any hardware store, or craft shop, and pick up a roll of the "sticky" stuff.

Simply cut a length of it to fit what you want to keep from moving around, and voila! No more moving mess in the trunk. It has worked well for me. Hope that this helps.

Best regards.

Excellent idea, MarylandBimmr! That's the idea that eluded me. I am going to try it this weekend.

Thanks.

Good to hear! Let me know how it goes. Don't forget to get a decent length of the velcro. Remember the old saying, measure twice, cut once (I sometimes forget).

Best regards.

I have a pretty nice trunk organizer made by of all things "Totes". It has velcro on the bottom to keep it from sliding. Its just the right size to fit the stuff that you need.

Yeah, those were the good old days, when I had a truck. It was simple, even though I had a boxliner. I just simply bungied everything to the carge hooks. No such luck in the cheap carpet in the trunk!

I just bought some detailing supplies to bring out the shine in my Mercury Marauder. I bought a PC 7424XP, M105, M205, and some pads. I then purchased a backing plate thinking that is all I needed. Well the problem I have is that both the PC and the backing plate are female adapters. I searched for a dowel type thing with no results. And yes my dog did chew the backing plate but did not damage anything. Here are some pics of my supplies. What do I need?
