Hi Everyone,
I made a little burn on my paint with the rotary. It was the first time I had ever used it (back in December). It's about an inch long, and 1/8th of an inch wide. I definately know it ate through the paint down to the primer. It kind of looks a little chalky now, but NO rust so I know I'm not down to the panel. BTW: My car is red (if it matters)
What I had planned
-Wash the area
-Dry the area
-Use Rubbing Alcohol to remove any protectant on the area
-Dry off
-Use 2-3 very thin coats of Honda/Acura Touch up paint on the affected area
-Let dry for a day (initial 1 hour dry in the garage for dust reasons)
To Level the Surface
I figured since it was not clearcoated, it would be easier to level out. Would DACP work to level out the surface, then finish up with SFP to remove any haze?
OR
Will I need to wetsand it, then compound/polish it out?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
