In reference to the Taurus lights... You mentioned that they are non clear-coated whereas GM lights ARE clear-coated. Where did you find this information? All lights have some sort of UV protection, otherwise they would cloud and haze from day 1.

I was told that by a guy who works at the Ford plant here in KC. He said that's why they are so easy to polish. (How he would know, is anybody's guess!):doh:

I've done dozens of Taurus headlights and I've never seen anything that resembled the clear-coat failure that I see on GM cars. Just oxidation and scratching.
