So on Friday I received my Wet Ice over Fire Shine kit from Detailed Image. I immediately proceeded to test it out on my wife's Infiniti, here are the pics, sorry I am not to good at documenting yet.

Here is the car after Prima Hydro from three weeks ago!

Here is the a shot that is indicative of the paint throughout the car.

Not enough marring or swirls to really bust out the PC and fix things (not until later)

nice tall beads...not bad for wax as you rinse product!

I then proceeded to hand apply Meguiar's Deep Crystal Paint cleaner to remove the LSP and leave a nice base for the new sealant and the carnauba wax.

So I applied the Blackfire Wet Diamond All Finish Paint Protection with Poly Charger with the included foam applicator in thin coats and let it haze after twenty minutes, I wiped it off with Meguiar's Supreme Shine Microfiber towels. Here are the Results

Just from the Sealant it left the car wet and with super crisp reflections.

I had to wait for 8 hours to let the sealant cure before applying the Midnight Sun Carnauba

So I applied the Midnight Sun Carnauba and was impressed how easy it was to apply and remove. After one coat of the wax here are the results

Overall, I am impressed with this kit! My wife likes the synthetic look on her cars, so ill be mainly using this on her Infiniti and her Expedition, the wax on top is nice to give it that deep gloss that I am a fan of. After some reviews on the Wax here and on other detailing websites, I'm pretty curious about topping it with another wax. When I detail the Expedition next I'll probably apply just the Midnight sun and see what the Results are like.

Thanks for the review.

I was just asking questions about this product in another post.. I guess I didn't see your review.

Do you have any other products you can compare to Blackfire?

I'm just wondering if it's a lot like Souveran, Fuzion, 5050, Pete's 53 Wolfgang sealant 3.0 you know along those lines.. If so, I don't need another one of these products. While all great products I have Plenty. LOL

If I pass on the kit maybe the Blackfire wax would work over jetseal109?? I have this coming tomorrow.

I wouldn't top the Blackfire carnauba since it's a LSP product. You can, but I would see what the durability is like first. Unless you're like many of us and like to wax your cars every weekend. :lol

I'm curious to see how long this last in terms of looks and durability..

Only other waxes/sealants I have used are Natty's blue, red, NXT, Nxt2.0, Gold Class, Supernatural, and the zaino system. Honestly I am not a fan of the plastic look that zaino left on my cars, so i went into the blackfire wet diamond kind of leary, but i was surprised how it left the surface crisp and wet looking ( infact from what i understand most sealants today are designed to mimic carnauba) The Midnight sun added more depth, which overall gave the final look a pleasant compromise of sealant and carnauba. I don't have enough experience with all the sealants out there to really compare, but from what I've read elsewhere all sealants that are topped by carnaubas are going to look similair to a degree.

Next time ill try topping the blackfire with my natty's blue to see if it looks different or not.

ninja edit: lol i like waxing my cars weekly, but im trying to not do it so often (what can i say i love experimenting and i love that just waxed look)

Yeah, I'm trying not to detail my cars weekly either. I got tired of it pretty quick. :chuckle:

How does the Blackfire look compared to Supernatural? Or could you even tell a difference. I use so many products, I sometimes can't remember what looked good on what LOL

I'm thinking about buying a "slightly" used tub of Supernatural. Did you like it?

fwiw. I happened to like the NXT 2.0 more than I thought I would. I only left it on for a week though. But it looked good, and water wouldn't stick to the car.

Supernatural left my vette looking really good, Let me put it this way for a $200 dollar wax you want to be wowed the minutes you wipe it off, I wasn't. It kind of grows on you, This weekend I detailed my dad's f150 and used concorso as an lsp and that wowd the crap out of me

btw check your pms
