Weight Loss Thread!

So a week ago I weighed myself on Saturday afternoon and was dead-on my target weight, down to the tenth of a pound. That evening we went out to eat as part of the "5280 restaurant week", dinner for two, $52.80 at an up scale place we wouldn't ever go to. :drool5: :drool5:

Weighed myself before going to bed...gained 5.6 pounds! :scared: :scared:

Then I went on a business trip for four days - lots of wlkimh, lots of work, crazy meal schedule...lost every pound I had gained.

Aw sum thats great Bill ! I bet you are reaping the benefits and have more energy right ? I know you like the South Beach diet and so do I , a pink grape fruit with breakfast really helps to lean out the bod too....the good pink ones are sweet enough that thet dont need any sweetener after the initial shock to the taster...

Wow Bill this is tremendous news... Congratulations

My diet/cholusterol level has probally gotten worse. I bought 2 cases of girl scout cookies last week and there moving fast :Snowman:

I've really gotta get a grip before I end up taking a dirt nap Sleep

You can't believe how much easier it is to work, climb stairs, sleep, basically everything!

I usually have 2 eggs for breakfast and that's it. Maybe I'll try it for a change of pace.:cornut:

Hello,

Congratulations to all of you with your weight loss. As you all know from media esp. in past decade--diet and exercise---key to wt. loss.. For those of you who work graveyards and drive trucks--I worked graveyards as a nurse for 10 years also---it's like this: when you wake up afternoons in daylight --have to eat breakfast,, get on a routine and prioritize---like setting exercise at a specific time each day / evening or night depending on your work schedules.. very hard working graveyards esp. if it is 5 shifts/ week.. But, can be done---takes much motivation---and like folks have written--stay away from "sweets"---nutritionists will all say even for diabetics---you can eat a dessert a week---and go with sweeteners if you must, and use honey for baking instead of sugars.. Anyway,, good idea too to attend free Nutrition seminars, and if you're members of health clubs/ fitness centers already---attend their seminars/ workshops on various health topics too.. Weight loss---we all know---people didn't put on all those pounds overnight, can't expect to take it off real easily either..
But, whatever you folks do---if you're over 40 years of age and haven't been on a weight training--i.e. cardiac exercise program---first see your Medical Doctor for a physical exam, and go from there.. soft oa,

Try running a marathon with a 45 pound backpack on. Then halfway through, take it off!!!! Wow!

That's the way I looked at it when I started all of my training. I'd still like to get down another 10 or so, just to see what it would do to my speed, but I haven't tried to lose it all that hard either.

I'm pretty much on a roll now. I'm eating between 1500 and 1800 cals per day and the pounds are literally MELTING OFF! Once I reach my goal weight, I'll adjust my cal count to around 2000 and see if it maintains.

Yup... And it ain't coming back. I am determined to never be fat again!:cursing:

That's awesome! NOTHING good comes from being overweight, for sure. It's a VERY tough battle to fight though and one that many, many people fight and don't win! I'm sure your body thanks you every day man, think how much less stress is on your heart now! Good work!

I'm watching P.O.V. subject matter "Food Inc" This is unbelievable. 80% of the food in your pantry is made by either Tyson Monsanto Perdue or Smithfield

Our food is made of junk. We are doomed :scared:

Monsanto is the Devil

What I find incredible is the amount of sugar in almost EVERY food on earth!

If the label says:

1. Brown sugar
2. Corn syrup
3. Demerara Sugar
4. Dextrose
5. Free Flowing Brown Sugars
6. Fructose
7. Galactose
8. Glucose
9. High Fructose Corn Syrup
10. Honey
11. Invert Sugar
12. Lactose
13. Malt
14. Maltodextrin
15. Maltose
16. Maple syrup
17. Molasses
18. Muscovado or Barbados Sugar
19. Panocha
20. Powdered or confectioner's sugar
21. Rice Syrup
22. Sucrose
23. Sugar (granulated)
24. Treacle
25. Turbinado

Yep... it's sugar.
