Weekend Project: Painted Brake Calipers

This weekend I was able to prep a set of brake calipers for install on my Nissan 350Z. A friend of mine let me borrow an extra set of his rear calipers and I went to work on the kit with the G2 brake caliper paint system. I have used this in the past and its really great. Very easy to use and much nicer than regular spray brake caliper paint.

I was set to get my Stop Tech 13.1 inch front big brake kit installed tomorrow on the 350Z. Of course, now they are calling for 3 inches of snow here. :angry . I was going to have new cross drilled rotors and these painted calipers installed with the rest of the kit.

More pics to follow when the install is completed.

Very nice :xyxthumbs

I hope to paint mine this spring when it gets warmer :)

How did you apply it - with a brush ? I'd like to see some pics after you put them on.

Be ready to take off your wheels every so often to scrub them down. About a year ago I painted my calipers on my Firebird with red and then a clearcoat and nothing I do ever gets them perfectly red again unless I take off the tires and really scrub at them.

Looks good though!

Im assuming they are stickers.

1 Clean WS6: The graphics are just a sticker that goes on the caliper. Pretty sharp for $15.00.

Kartoon: Yeah I know what you mean. I usually switch out my wheels in the winter anyway so it gives me plenty of time to clean them and get them looking new again. The red calipers (G2 kit) on my F150 are in serious need of cleaning.

A few more weeks and my chrome wheels go back on the truck.

Can't wait for spring to put my new Volk GTC wheels on the 350Z. :xyxthumbs
