I did some more work on the SS today with the SMR, man it looks good! I dont have any pics yet, I will in a few days.

I did the lower doors and the part under the doors that raps under the car, clay'd, cleaned off the tar and other road junk, SMR, them some new fresh Z1/Z5:) cant waiit to see when it dries:)

Sounds like my plan for this weekend, I am hoping I can clay the car, use some of the 3M SMR and then go over the car a bunch of times with Meguiars glaze and hi-tech yellow wax....

<strong class='bbc'>Bill,
Are you using a PC to apply the 3M SMR? [/b]</blockquote>
Yep:) Pics on there way:);)

SMR is a really good product, but personally, I like Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover 2.0 a little better. It just seems a little easier to work with and remove. But both are great products!

Curiuous about the use of both SMR and Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover 2.0. Do you need to wash the car after using either of them with sealant type polishes? I notice that SMR comes in light and dark and that makes me think fillers and snooping on carcareonline about #9 “Polishes out all minor paint blemishes and feeds the paint with rich nutrients to bring out vibrant color and brilliance while extending paint life. Wondering if there could be bonding issues with products like Klasse, Zaino & Blackfire with what's left behind.

Yes, there can be bonding problems with Zaino, Klasse, etc. and SMR/#9. It is recommended that you wash the car after polishing and before applying a sealant to remove any oils/residue that the polish left behind.

'cept for one thing....... Personal experience says that washing after a polish job like that would reverse the effects of polishing....... all you're doing is adding the swirls back onto the paint. All I ever do is QD, and it takes care of the residue. :up

<strong class='bbc'>If you are swirling up a fresly polished and clean car you really should look into improving your washing methods IMHO. [/b]</blockquote>
the few times I did this 'post polish, pre seal' wash, I used a sprayer bottle (the kind you get from home depot that are empty) filled with a mix of Z7........ spray it on, spray to rinse it off........ blow dry with leaf blower, use MF to spot-wipe.....

I still got swirls....... immagine that.......

Ah Spring! Finally an 80+ degree weekend! Broke out the detailing gear and just had a nice relaxing Sunday playin' with the cars, listenin' to music and having a cold one (or two)! Just me or is this a great feeling?!
Life is good!
