Website Up and Running!

Ooops..My bad. I was responding to a lot of emails and sites last night. I get confused sometimes as I grammar check for a lot of different sites...found a mistake on Virgin Atlantic 2 months ago and only got a nice, "Thank you." Was kind of hoping for RT to Europe.

Apologize for the error, Rob

Ok, I was wondering if I was missing something that I uploaded by accident :). Thanks for your impressions and suggestions throughout this thread Rob.

Not to beat a dead horse but your prices are waaay to low. Your premium package can take up to 10 hours depending on the condition of the car that your providing the service for. Include drive time, set up and take down and materials and you don't make a cent for your services and time. You may want to reconsider your pricing. I live in the DC area and I personally won't touch a PC to a car for less than $300.00 and thats if the car is in decent condition. Personally I think your selling yourself short. Sorry for being blount but it is better to fix your pricing now than it would be to adjust it later.

Do you find a lot of people willing to pay $300 plus for PC paint correction? If so, does that include any interior work? Just curious because I operate in NOVA and many people will not even pay $200 for full details. BTW, my full details start at $225. I find this price to be attractive to most people in the market for detailing.

Ok, everyone is telling my prices are low (which I fully agree that they are.) For my area (Baltimore Maryland) how much would be a good range to price my work at? (Example of my work is now on the site.) Also do you think it'd be a good idea to put a line on the home page that says something along the lines of 'limited time only - save $5-$25* on your first service' (*savings vary upon service performed)? That way as I enter the market my prices are lower so I can get a few customers?

Your prices are VERY low for this area. I'm a local, hell, I actually know you. I went to school with you :dance

Anyhow, you definitely need to price your work a little higher.

Yea, no idea...but if you want a detail, give me a call :)

:grinno:

I have my own business in the area; won't be needing your assistance. However, if I get any extra work I can't handle, I'll send it your way.

I think you are selling yourself short on pricing, but I guess you know your market. Around here it's $15 for a drive through with crappy spray on "wax protection", and brushes that marr the crap out of the paint.

Price is very important. If you operate at low prices it will finally get you. A lot of people start a carwash and or detailing company and start their pricing low to attract new business. The bad thing is that after a year or two there is never enough extra moneys in the company to sustain the business and they go out of business. You have overhead to pay and your skill is worth the price. I know because when I started this is whatI did. After a while your liek I am working my tail off in all types of weather and never getting ahead. And when your ready to expand or maybye start selling your own products ect. There is no capital to utilze or fall back on. If your work is good your prices will be justified. People who detail their cars a lot know market value and if you are way below they won't use you unless they are really cheap. And theother shop owners will tell you that the cheap customers are alays the one who bust your chops for a better deal....LOL
