Web Re-design comments/suggestions

:xyxthumbs I think it looks good. I had a few to say but GSRstilez covered them so I'll just agree with him. :D

Site looks great!

How did you learn to do this? on your own or some help. I"m looking into doing a web site in the future.

couple of things I noticed;

your price estimate- the box comes up and the previous layer still comes over top of it. looks bad covers some things up.

in your photo gallery;

I like the first page

in your pics you should maybe think aobut blacking out their plates. We really don't need to know their plate number and can be a privacy issue.

Also when doing before and after pics you should try and get the same picture, same location, same stance, This is one of my problems also. It's my biggest complaint that I get. I'm hoping to get better with a digital cam, since i'm using 35mm now.

hope these help

just my thoughts

The site looks good,

Others mentioned the outline around your package area...the problem I have is that I run my setting at 800 X 600 and I have a problem seeing all of package one and two unless I scroll down and go back over the roll over.

Unlike Sean, I don't quite care for the little icons (i'm sure you put a lot of work into it too, sorry), but I thinks it it takes away from some of the stlye.

I seem to notice this not only on your site but a few other mobile detailer's pages, that you don't say what area's you service. I was wondering why

Overall I like it.

Good luck and Happy holidays

Thanks for the comments, I will address the individual points later.

One thing that everyone pointed out was content on other pages besides the home page. EVERYTHING IS CHANGING!! The lame packages page is changing, as is everything else. The main thing that i wanted to see if it looked good was the index.html page that had the happy holidays place holder. That page is my template page, and everything will be shifting to that layout, as well as content changing. The packages are going to be come a table, the pricing is going to lose some frame work, and become a diferent layout with the same interactivity. ETC...

Sorry if i didn't specify before, but i know the old content is bad, that is why it is going away forever!!

I like the pricing page where you can calculate your totals although I noticed the totals did not change when I selected different conditions of the car.

I would really have loved to build my own webpage but with time constraints I figure it is best to pay someone but have the ability to edit content which is what I do. This way I can stay involved in changes but leave the real decorating and hosting to the pros.

What program are you using to develop?

THAT'S ME EVERYBODY!!!!

Hey buddy I can't schedule at appointment!

And I am an avid collector of fine 1990's Geo's and I clearly, CLEARLY see no pricing on them.

Do I get a free detail then? :o :D

I learned all of my web authoring on my own. It is just trial and error, and if you get stuck, consult with google. it really isn't too hard once you understand the syntax, and the basics.

The price estimate page is changing so it wont be like that anymore in IE, but thanks for letting me know it still does that after all of my countless attempts to thwart that bug GRRR...

As for the License Plates, you see them on the road, and in the driveways etc... they are public knowledge. I can take your name and go to the dmv and get your plate number. Most of my customers are aware of that, and they dont really care. I e-mail them all links to their cars in the gallery, and they have never made any comments full knowing that it is posted on a public page. And taking the pictures. You are right, it is hard. Especially when one person takes the before, and a different the after! I also have to shift angles based on lighting conditions. Somethimes it (as you are probably well aware) is very hard to shoot the same angles just because of the position of the sun!

Thanks for the feedback and the comments, and if you want any help creating your own pages, or even a temporary host for some stuff, let me know i would be more than happy to oblige.

Yep packages are chaniging (see above :) ) I like the icons :( just because they took forever  no, but really the menu's were just way too plain without them. It may be just a personal preference, but even my Firefox web browser has been updated to have little pics on each of the menu items!

My old site said where i service, and this one will too eventually. I just havent gotten that far yet. I dont know how you could have any service site, detailing or other, and not put where you serve... Wouldn't that be harmful to your sales?

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, and Happy holidays to you too!

What program are you using to develop?

the pricing page has one error, and it is backwards pricing, you can go from bad to good condition. The prices will change otherwise. Well, Excellent and good are the same price, then there is an added price after that. I will fix the reverse calculation bug later. All it is is a variable that isn't resetting back to 0.

Paying someone has crossed my mind, but i like to be able to mix it up whenever i feel like it. I like to be able to change images, colors, content even layout on the fly. Alot of pros get real mad when you change their work around. It would be like one of our customers walking out and taking the S100 out of our hands and replacing it with simonize. I would shoot them. If you ever want to learn, or have someone build some stuff for you to work with, let me know i wouldn't mind helping out.

I dont want any appt's scheduled, it is FREEZING OUT!!! I will have that page up soon, but it will still be non-operational.

and um... do you want to detail a geo... I dont. I prefer not to get my pads all um rusty and filled with flakes of diminishing sheet metal.

Thanks again everyone,

Mike
