We need Opti-Clay

It was my understanding, based on links provided by other Autopians, that it was in violation of the court order for existing stock to be sold. This appeared to have been changed or ignored. At this point, I don't think there is any of the Erazer clay in circulation.

using the block clay from sonus today, it left residue behind that I had to go back and wipe up....although it does remove rather quickly...but what clay do you recommend that IS available until optimum comes up with a new clay?????

Four Star was getting my vote, but the last couple bars I got were a little too hard for my liking. If I had to buy more clay, I would buy the 4.5 oz yellow bar from Excel - I bought just one to try a couple months ago and liked it very much - I believe it is elastic, just like the Opti-clay bars; a few pennies more, but well worth it.

You'll have to forgive me, as I am confused. Did this apply to only the Elastic and not the Plastic made clays?

Without dragging this all up again, since there are tons of threads about this, AutoMagic (now owned by ITW) makes or licenses the manufacture of all detailing clay in this country. They have successfully defended their patents and enjoined other clay manufacturers (including Kucala, the mfr. of Erazer clay) from producing.

I don't think the court can prevent vendors who already have stock from selling it. The action was not with the distributors; it was against KEL.

FWIW, there isn't much of the KEL clay remaining. If you like it and find it, you'd better snatch it up.

I have some, but it ain't cheap!

I agree, Opti-Clay is a truly superior product. I have a semi-worn bar left.

I understand Optimum is working on a solution.
