I was searching the web for a way to remove tar from Paint Protection Film (PPF)

and I found this:

How to Clean Tar Off of a Car Coated With 3M Film | eHow.com

That is right...3M scotch Brite Pads!

I know enough not to use those, Can someone reccommend a chemical suitable for use on the PPF. I got rid of the black tar marks by just washing the car. But the amber marks below remains. This Car has a nice coat of BFWD on the hood over the PPF but it would not wash away with car wash or by wiping gently with the BF spray sealant I use as a drying aid.

Will Tarminator or Tardis hurt the Venture shield?
Thanks

Don't use Tarminator. It will fog up the film or ruin it all together. I tried TarX on mine and it left a foggy stain behind but I hear others haven't had any issues using it.

Normally I will hand polish the stains with an AIO like Klasse or Poli-seal.

Thanks, I have Poli-Seal (from Optimum-is this the product you are talking about?). What pad would you use and at what speed. I own a Flex DA, GG DA and an old PC.

Thanks-

Is the tar your talking about from tracking? or just normal road gunk? And in my experience using a medium aggressive polish by hand usually takes care of either.

No, it is not from the track. It is from normal driving on the local parkways in 100 degree heat.

Yes that's the product I'm talking about. I don't usually pull out the DA, I just do it by hand. Your only cleaning the stain so it only takes a minute to do. I grab a microfiber applicator or foam applicator and just polish the stained area.

If you want to get more aggressive you can but I don't think it will be necessary. Poli-seal is a great cleaner

I will give it a try tonight. Thanks

i recommend not lifting a saturated, spinning polisher pad from the paint surface until it stops. :wall you usually only do this once.

You should never take the cap of the dump hose of a full extractor unless it is above the level of the dirty tank.........gravity works!

You usually only make that mistake once!!!!!!!!!!

You should not have your rotary set to 3500 for pad drying action then forget the speed its on and goto buffing a the edge of a fender on 2013 Bentely GTC, Thankfully nothing bad happen and probably will be the last time I ever do that.
How bad it would of sucked if I would of burnt this..... I just got goosebumps thinking about it

Don't buy a new can of NXT 2.0 paste wax and proceed to use 75% of it waxing your vehicle in one application!!!

....I actually know someone who did this! :rofl
