Waxing with a rotary...few ??'s

I want to get my focus all shined up but I was wondering if I can use my rotary (makita variable) on 800rpm's to apply my liquid wax if I have a foam polish pad?

from what i've been reading up on here you apply the wax with one pass, and so it is a light kight coat.....anything i'm missing? I might even pick up a PC one of these days for waxing and hand glazing, seems to do a pretty good job.

Hmmm, I suppose that'd work. Rotary/Finishing Pad at minimal speed.

What kind of wax are you using?

There are a lot of easy on/off wax/sealant products. Never considered using a rotary to wax. Unless it's a one step product there really is no reason to work a wax into the paint. Just apply and remove. Rotary might make things messy.

I'd apply the wax by hand- too much chance of sling with a rotary. You might end up doing even more work cleaning up the sling.

oh yea i forgot about the slinging :) , although I have got it down pretty well now, I work in a bodyshop and do at least a few a day....I can even go without stopping the buffer when squirting on more compound and usually not sling.....but when it does go boy does it make a mess lol :D

I used a Milwaukee rotary to apply LSPs *way* back in the day (dealership job) and I really wouldn't recommend it. Too easy to have an "oops" of one type or another and I honestly think that it's faster and easier to just apply liquid waxes by hand (in the absence of a PC/Cyclo).
