I have cleaned 2 50ft house boats in the past week, the cleaning part was easy but when it came to waxing dam they were a pain in the arse. the gelcoat on both were a little chalky, when i went to wax them the gelcoat suck the wax right up couldnt even wipe it off, i went over it 2-3 times but it looked like sh*t...the was patches all over it, i tired marine wax, auto wax all looked like crap, i know gelcoats suck that stuff up especially if they havent been well maintain but this has put me off offering waxing, any ideas what i could use or something i need to do different, PLEASE HELP

Your fighting a losing battle if your trying to accomplish this via hand. Your gonna have to hit this beast with a ratary and then you'll be golden

use the rotary to apply the wax you mean, what pad you suggest to use??

Wool and Rocks-n-a-Bottle

I just recentally did a friend a HUGH favor by polishing out a motorhome he recentally purchased. This thing was a freakin mess. However, I was able to revive "Tha Beast" in about 4 hours(minus the wash)via the ratary

You need to use a compound or polish first to clean up the gel coat and remove that chalky stuff your talking about first. A rotary will be best but you can use a Porter Cable 7424XP. Go with a sealant for boats because of the different surface your dealing with and you want it to last also.
