Wax Residue Left on the Car???

I don't know about the rest of you but I am fairly anal about getting all the wax off the car...I do a finial on all my cars in the direct sun to be as sure as I can get, in addition to a QD wipe down to insure a full removal

On my car I have noticed more than once a week or so later that I see a small area of wax, its fairly faint, but in some cases on the car in an area that I KNOW I wiped, QD after and there was nothing there at that time.

My question is anyone have this happen?

I am some what convinced that its transparent at the time and with some dust / dirt it becomes visible.

That happens to me from time to time. It pisses me off, but it's nothing that a quick swipe of a microfiber can't handle.

On my own cars I don't care as much but its the customers cars that concern me, who wants to pay $200 and a week later here is some residue on the car...LOL
 
It happens to me too. I know I go over the car/s several times with a micro/s and it looks great. A day or two later and I'll see a spot. I don't know how I can miss it the first time let alone the second or third.

Well, I've had that happen as well. It's unfortunate, but it happens. I usually just give them a discount for their next detail.

I start with telling customers that its close to impossible to get every smudge and new looking clean on every surface, based on how much I take the car threw. So if they see something its not that I over looked it, I'm just human and might have not been able to see it in the light that I was in.

I've never had someone tell me that they found something that should have been cleaner or was upset that they saw a little wax in a corner.

Its to many process to take a car threw and not expect something to be missed
 
I've had it happen with EX-P, being that my suv is white it blends right into teh color. I went over w/ qd and micro after buffing off and days later saw spots that I somehow missed.

I do and in some cases with darker colors more than once, these smudges appear days after I'm done....not sure of the detail ghosts are coming in at night or what is happening.
 
It happens to me too, but infrequently, those pesky areas showing up I thought I got a day ago. Up to now, I thought it was a sign of old age, poor memory, lack of concentration, naps while detailing, sporadic Alzheimers, poor vision, poor lighting, poor technique, etc.
So now I know there is some other force working against me, some cosmic thing, some little known law of nature or drying sealant/QD and I'll rest easy.
Thanks Dave, you're a champ and I'm going to have a thirst quenching beverage in your honor. Then again, maybe that's my problem.

I'm not sure what exactly causes it, but I'm thinking that moisture has something to do with it. I've seen it occassionally , mostly in spots that I could have missed, but I'm pretty sure I've gone over the area well. It could just be a mystery that no one will ever know ;) Now I'll go have a drink too :)

Me three!

I used to think that it was product specific. Some time went by after changing brands, and I thought the problem was solved. Then this condition "re-appeared" on a customers car, (dark red). Now I am thinking dark colors only. Wrong again, found it in a silver SUV after about 1 week.:confused:

At least no one has complained too loudly. Just bugs me as well!

I just got done with my second coat yesterday on my Pilot and today I found a couple of spots. Maybe fatigue is the reason it goes unnoticed. I know a lot of you guys do this all day every day, but by the end of the day, after a day's hard work, we all get tired, and that could lead to missing little spots. Usually removing the sealant/wax is the last step. The next day when you are fresh, you notice the spots right away.

This was pointed out to me and I hadn't given any thought to product specific, I was having this problem big time with 3M Imperial hand glaze that stuff was real hard to get off.

I really don't know what causes this but I am going to hit the net over the weekend while I have the time and see what I can come up with.
