wax over lsp?

That is a matter of opinion here. Is it better. It "should" offer longer protection, however the question is: What about looks? I have found that when topped with Dodo Juice Double Wax, it mutes the finish that was achieved with just the BFWD. I have found that BFWD topped with CG Butter Wet Wax or Pinnacle Souveran does not mute the gloss any.

For starters, "LSP" is a "last step product". So it depends on what your LSP is as to whether or not you can out wax over the top.

I know that with a product like DPS (Danase Paint Sealant) you can top it with their DWG (wet glaze) and then top it with the DPS again. This is what I use on all the black cars I do and it looks amazing.

I am sure that more people will chime in with other combos.

i mostly finish cars with wolfgang sealant........but if i wanna take the car to another level i go over the wolfgang sealant with megs NXT

By LSP do you mean a paint sealant?? otherwise the final product you use on top of anything is your LSP...

Double layering most protection products is always better provided the LSP does not have any cleaners in it.

I wouldn't top off bfwd with anything...it looks great on itself. You can try to top off meg's sealant with meg's carnauba based wax though.. 26 on top of 21 looks great

Only if there is no positive effect or benefit. My experience is that it both enhances the finish and that the durability of the shine/finish increases. Cars don't take long to get filthy where I live so extra durability is a big plus.

I'd generally prefer to be able to add more sealant later. Not that I'd *never* top one with wax, but I'd have to have a really good reason to do it. Normally I just choose one LSP and use (only) that, my Collinite sandwiches notwithstanding.

i thought the whole point of a sealant was so you didn't have to wax so often to maintain.

Also, wouldn't a LSP be a quick detail spray or quick wax, etc.?

I thought the general convention of putting more than 2 coats of anything on was a waste of time and money...car shows being the exception i suppose?
