Wax or sealant with heavy filler and does not stain?

I daily drive a CX-5 that is in Black Mica. I want it looking good, but getting tired of polishing it and going through glazes like no tomorrow. There is a decent amount of (easily stained) plastic molding throughout the body as well. Granted I could mask every part and go through roll after roll of masking tape every month, I rather not spend the time nor money. With that said, I am in search of a wax or sealant that can meet the criteria of containing heavy fillers, no staining of plastics, durability, and preferably won't hide the brilliant silver/gold mica flakes in the paint. Any suggestions?
 
That's a tough one. KSG fills in swirls for me. Megs ultimate wax does a bit as well. How bad are your swirls? What have you had luck with?
 
I've had good luck with Autogylm SRP and CG's Glossworks Glaze. AG is cheaper and I think Pep Boys carries it.

IME SRP can stain trim though.

I've never used 915, but the other Collinites that I have tried didn't stain trim. But with 476S it's *VERY* advisable to buff it off the trim before it dries.



And applying any wax thickly enough to "fill the trim's texture" is just asking for trouble.
 
All the swirls and marring are dealer pre-installed. I asked them not to wash the car prior to pick up, and they did anyways. Most likely with a dirty brush. Meg #80 took care of most of it, but since it is a black daily driver, the swirls come back often. After #80, I used EX-P since I have a full bottle of it that's been sitting for a few years. Hides a dismal amount of the swirls for a week or two after applying, but often comes back. It stains trim quite bad. I tried topping EX-P with Natty's (old school original white) and it did help with hiding. Unfortunately original Natty's is not durable by any means and the swirls come back after a week or two.



I use Meg's gold class wash, two bucket formula with grit guard, and a sheep skin wools mitt to minimize wash induce swirls. I wash probably once a week since it is a daily driver.
 
BTW, I have contemplated about using Klasse twins on the Black Mica since I use it for my Velocity Red Mica RX-8. I didn't see any filler properties when using it with one or two layers. Perhaps I would have to layer more? I do love its durability and how it doesn't stain the trim. Reason I haven't used it for the Black Mica is because I don't have a garage and my driveway is exposed to direct sunlight from morning 'til night. The black does get quite hot and I would imagine SG to be hard to work with given the conditions.
 
Any more suggestions? I am down to Megs Ultimate Wax or 915. Leaning towards the UW since it is half the price of 915, which I think might be wise for a daily.

You can get the 915 from Autoality.com for $33 with free shipping--the best price I've seen on the ULW is $20 at Wally World. Here's an idea--put on a base coat of ULW and top it with 915. I'm not a big fan of Megs products but have been impressed with ULW--had it on for 8 weeks and it's as slick and shiney as the day I applied it.
 
IMO UW hides swirls much better than 915. Plus 915 beads like crazy, which I don't like as much these days. 915 does look a bit glossier though, but I wouldn't want that on black.



Nail in the coffin: Megs will give you your money back if you don't love UW.
 
Thanks everyone. I found UW in stock at the closest WalMart for $20. Looks like I will be trying it out.



If I were to take care of minor imperfections, would Megs #80 Speed Glaze be a wise choice? Most say it has fillers and medium abrasives. I have noticed that most swirls are taken care of by using #80, but I am not sure if it is because of fillers or it actually removed them (or combination of both?). I would assume for my situation, it is preferred that I use a polish/glaze with reasonable amount of filler and also an LSP with filler to hide the flaws being highlighted by the black paint. If #80 is suitable, would I need to use anything between it and Meg's UW?
 
another QX4- Yeah, the M80 is doing a *little* correction and a bit of filling both. Not a whole lot of either IME (and I used it for decades) but I'm not familiar with your paint so maybe it corrects easier than what I'm used to.



No need to use anything between M80 and your LSP, though you could use one of Meguiar's Pure Polishes to do some more filling (the wax will seal it in for a while).



Also consider using M09 Swirl Mark Remover v2.0, which is, in actual practice, 99% "Swirl Mark Concealer" and 1% "Swirl Mark Remover". Again, top with wax to keep the fillers in place a while longer.



Can't help but mention that I myself am all about correcting the marring and then not instilling more (yeah, even on a big black vehicle; I kept a Yukon XLD marring-free year-round so it can be done)...but one of my vehicles can't be corrected due to thin paint and I do use the "conceal it" approach on the marred panels of that vehicle; I use 1Z Wax Polish Soft topped with Collinite, but the 1Z stuff is both pricey and hard to find.
 
Thank you again. Last I used M80, I masked every plastic trim/cladding of the body. I am unsure whether or not M80 stains trim. I searched, but couldn't find an answer. I would assume that it does stain?
 
another qx4- Yeah, the M80 *does* stain trim IME, good idea to keep it off such surfaces. Most products that fill also stain.

Agreed! Auto Balm fills like no other. Takes some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it it's very easy. Looks great, too. Doesn't bead well, though. Sounds like this is exactly what you are looking for. Accumulator, it's great on trim!
