Wax on Chrome

Can I use normal car wax on chrome wheels for a little protection?

Sure, you can use wax or sealant. I usually use with OS or 845iw.

I use OS and Z-CS as well. Easy to apply and no need to come back and buff.



For brake dust I use UQD to maintain clean in between washing. That's enough protection for my rims.

Wax is fine – in fact excellent. As an extra step, I top off several coats of wax with 2 of 3 coats of ‘Rejex’ (a sealant.) but just about any premium sealant over wax will help with ease of maintenance on rims.

I've heard the exact opposite. Wax bonds on top of sealant right?
