Wax Daddy and Formula 113

Man, I tried searching and read through every post under Formula 113 / Wax Daddy / Bead-X and nothing lead to anything juicy. Seems like it's locked in the Archives and you can't do a search there.

wow some real funny stuff.

hard to judge much of anything in a crappy youtube vid. everything from turtlewax to dodojuice to swissvax to zymol all looks the same with low res vids. hardly scientific though - looks like the wax daddy stuff probably uses a ton of fillers and such.

it seems most people out there dont understand the prep stage which is most important.

as far as the other douche bag mentioned earlier, im not going to waste my time on a product thats being sold by someone who doesn't know the difference between a sealant, wax, quick detailer, polish, or compound - he seems to think they'r all interchangable

I've seen the "Ramada Red" video a couple of times. Always entertaining.

Seriously guys, as irritating as Wax Daddy's personality may be to some, I think he's actually got the right idea! Cleaner wax may not be Swissvax, but it's much better than nothin'!

Where do you think there is more money to be made in the car care products business?

1) Launching a new product to compete with Menzerna, et al;

2) Trying to persuade the uninitiated that they should be washing, claying, polishing, sealing and waxing to Autopian standards;

or

3) Reaching the tens of millions of car, truck and mini-van owners who never wash or wax their vehicles. It is likely that a good number of these folks would begin to buy an OTC product line and at least try some elementary car care steps if they were exposed to the right marketing campaign. I would think that a popular spokesperson could effectively deliver an entertaining, educational series of print and TV ads, stimulating a previously untapped share of the market to buy their first car care products.

Say... oh, I know!... a good looking, all American, boy-next-door type NASCAR driver.

I think a lot of his stuff was bad enough the threads got deleted. From what I understand, he was linking porn.

Yup, I remember leaving a comment on one of his vids about not making fair comparisons. Using his "polish" against Megs QD, and having an Autozone "expert" judge the "test". He called my comment an attack on him and on his family business and I must work for Megs.

I was pointing out one of his videos on Autogeek Online (the one where he is talking about Hot Summer Nights and he is at a dealership that uses his stuff) and said he makes himself look like a used car salesman and he PM'ed saying something along the lines of: "Dude, that was low. Call my cell number (whatever it was) I want to defend my products at every chance!".

I never called him, I still have the number in the PM, maybe sometime I will.

:laugh: Well nothing makes a guy want to buy some detailing products like some porn.

Decent shine, so-so durability. He sent me some Formula113 wax and BeadX (the QD) to try several years ago. The QD is actually pretty good but not worth $50 a gallon. Mike is a real character, he's been banned from here at least in part due to his failure to adhere to forum posting standards regarding language and sexual content.

From what I have been told, it is basically a strong cleaner wax with glaze mixed in it. Did you get that impression?

YouTube - Meguiars easily defeated outside of Kragen

Take a look at that link- It's Phil Boler doing another test...but i dont think he knows much...can anyone see what the HUGE problem is in the video??

Egads! I may not know a whole lot about waxes, but I do know that DC2 is a "pure polish" that should only be applied to a washed and prepped surface. Talk about rigging the game! Surely this Boler fellow knows this--at least he should know this if he knows anything whatsoever about car polishes and waxes. This is flimflammery.

He signed up at Thirdgen.org a while back. He posted in the appearance and detailing section. It took him about a month to get banned I believe.

Enough people must have told him the same thing because now the price is just under $40. Still a little high for QD.

It has been so long since I tried it (2002 perhaps?) that the details are a bit fuzzy. I do remember a decent shine, lots of dusting and it didn't last all that long even in wax friendly Dallas climate. It was mid-pack in the Guru Reports Wax test if I remember right.
