Wax Comparrison

Ronkh

Wax Waster
Well as some people know, I try just about every new and "best" thing out there. So today I decided to try something new.

It's a 50/50 test of Natty's Blue and (ready for this)

Swisswax Smagard (best of show)

Process and stuff used.

Sprayed down with bug squash

rinsed

Sprayed with PB APC

To get ris of sap and lsp's (yeah i know, i'm lazy today)

Wheels done wth PB S&R

Wash 2b/m

PB slick suds

PB mitt

PB Sg mixed 70/30 with SW

Dried with PB WW micro

then PB Black Hole by flex using blue pad (not shown)

Both waxes werre used per manufacturer's directions.

Car was pulled into garage to cool off and do the BOS. Now BOS was applied very lightly. Upon removal it dusted like crazy!!! It took 4 micros to get it off.

Other side was done with Natty's Blue.

Both had a brand new applicator.

Can you see a difference? Which is which?

The only thing that could possible skew the test is that I didn't allow the BOS to sit in the sun for the complete 3 hours, (i believe it was 2+)

Oh yeah, this was my wifes car, not mine.

She came out and said "nice".

I hope I don't have to re-do it tomorrow.

AND I DID TO THE WHEEL WELLS !!!!

Very nice. The question is, can you see a difference?

At the time I took the pictures, no. The car is in the garage now and Iwon't look at it till tomorrow.

That's a trick question right?

I don;t understand what you mean?

You do see a difference?

Where is the difference? LOL!

Which type of applicator did you used on Nattys Blue?

I didn't see it 2 hours after application. Microfiber applicator.

There is a huge difference, a couple hundred bucks. Go Natty's, best wax out there.

$255.00 difference to be exact. :shocked

I bought Swissvax Concorso, which is suppose to be the same as "best of show" according to many. And while the looks was great (one of the best) I've used. I don't believe it was worth the 200 plus I paid for it.

I'm done spending this kind of money on waxes, because imo I can't see enough difference to justify the price. A friend of mine use Vintage on his cars a week ago. He basically came to the same conclusion as me. Great product.. Not worth the 2k even with the refills. The way he goes through wax, it will be a long time (years) before he gets a refill. LOL

So bottom line. imo if you have the money and don't mind spending it. Buy whatever makes you happy, but if you honestly believe by spending thousands, and thousands of dollars on "wax" that it's going to blow everything away and give a much better look than lesser priced products.. You're kidding yourself. Again jmo and experience.

Did the Concorso dust like crazy when you removed it?

Was it gritty?

Seriously... Natty's Blue is really the BEST BANG for the BUCK.

It's funny. I keep buying the "best" or the flavor of the month, but I keep going back to Natty's Blue and Red. As well as most of the PB line.

I've never known an LSP to look bad after initial application. The question I'd like answered is how do they look in a couple of weeks in the weather.

No. No difference at all. Especially with pictures that are posted on the net...

You could have compared a bare finish to a waxed one and not even notice a difference.

But David, don't you know that, according to one member, it is beyond the limits of the human eye to see such differences?

I always top off a wash and/or wash/wax with a QD. Currently using OID but have also used FK 425.

To me, an expensive wax gets lost under the great gloss and depth of OID and by the time the OID wears off or is rained off the car is dirty enough you certainly won't be able to tell the difference between a $40 and $200 wax.

Thus, a Natty's Blue on a black car with a QD topper is the only sensible way to go for me in this example (or any for that matter).

What he said!! that is the true test. If you can go without topping the car after washes it would be cool to see the longevity of both waxes.
