Wax applicators

For paste waxes I prefer foam applicators, for liquids like EX and NXT I really like the even coat applicator (mf applicator) from meg's.

Grout sponges work best for me, whether with paste or liquid products. Misted with a QD, I get a thin, even application - very quick too! :up

Yellow Megs Foam.....I keep a ziploc full of clean ones close bye when applying wax. Never fails that I pick up some dirt that I missed when washing so I grab a fresh one and continue.

I like these

For paste wax I use Meg's yellow foam applicators for liquid wax I use MF applicators. The MF applicators also work great for appling interior dressings.

For paste waxes, I like foam pads, like the onces that come with the Meguiar's waxes. For liquids, if I don't use the PC with a foam pad, I'll use a MF pad.

I like the thin yellow foam pads from Pinnacle or PakShak. The Megs GC pads feel nice and plush but they absorb alot of product so that you have to press hard on the finish to get out. Pinnacle pads spread the best for me.

I use the yellow Meg's foam pads for applying any LSP by hand. I only use MF apps when I need a little extra bite with a polish or AIO.

Some waxes come with foam apps so I use those just like I would any other foam app. I have a separate bucket of old foam apps that I use for wheels. The ones that look dirty or are falling apart get used for wheels.

Thank you everybody for your responses. I've been using foam pads for all my waxes, sealants and carnauba. I should give those mf pads a try.

Now, how do you clean your pads? Same way I would clean my polishing pads?

As much as I like Meg's foam, I had some terry applicators laying around and tried them. They helped me get a nice thin coat of my #26 a lot better than Meg's foam did. Although it is a PITA to get wax on the applicator to begin with, but once you do, it smooths it out very easily.

I have just got some MF Clearkote hand pads after solely using yellow foam ones. The yellow foams ones I now use for polishing and I find the MF ones better for getting thin coats off EX, Wolfgang, CMW etc.

for liquid or paste, i buy from big lots store a 4 pak of yellow sponges for $1.00. they're called multi-purpose applicator pads. at 25 cents a pad its not worth washing it.
