Wax and or sealant for single stage paint.

Garry Dean Quality!
I got a call today from a guy who would like to have me bring his 1960 Corvair Sedan back to life. It is severely oxidized, but otherwise in great shape. So I went over to see the car today and negotiate a price. We settled on a price and I set up the appointment. He used some Mothers cleaner wax on some of the car with decent results so he decided since it was looking better with that he should have a professional take a look.

My question is what kind of wax and or sealant do you prefer for single stage paint? I used search, but didn't get the results I was looking for.

Here are some pics of the car that I took today, enjoy!

Here is a shot at another one of his projects. Yeah, its a Corvair van.

It looks like the old Corvair needs a lot of work before it's ready for a detail. :D
My vehicle with single stage paint gets the same wax or sealant I happen to be using with my other vehicles.
The only thing I try to avoid is using an aggressive polish so I don't remove a lot of paint. My single stage paint seems to be much softer than a clearcoat finish.

Yeah, it does need some work! It doesnt even run. The owner has a new engine for it, but wants the paint to be corrected as his first step. He has new door handles and all of the missing chrome trim inside the car.

First wash car with a good car wash like duragloss #901. Next clay the car, then polish with duragloss
#652 precleaner this will remove any oxidation, ground
in road grime and remove fine scraches and haze,
and leave a nice glossy finish ready for sealant.
My sealant choice would be duragloss #105.
#105 will produce a deep rich glossy finish that will
last for months, and give the finish maximum protection.

The other option would be to use 1z eniszett.
wash
clay
compound: 1z einszett extra
polish: 1z einszett paint polish
cleaner wax: 1z einszett polish / wax
finish wax/sealant: 1z einszett glanz wax for extra long lasting protection 4 months+

You can top both systems with S100 carnauba wax
for extra depth and wetness. But remember you can
top a sealant with wax, but you can't top a wax with
a sealant. The sealant can not bond to wax. So if you do use wax, remove it before you apply any
sealant. good luck with your project and if you have any
questions, this is the place to come. The people on
this forum are very knowledgeable and helpful.

I like to use M80 on neglected single stage paint because of the oils in it really help bring a SS paint back to life

A friend of mine has a car with single stage red paint. I used Four Star UPP on it and it looked great.

It really shouldn't make a difference on which one you choose. The important thing is the paint prep. You could try doing a small spot with each and see which one gives you the look that you are after.
