waud making waffles absorb less?

As soon as your done wipeing your car off rinse out the towel even though you are going to wash the towel later. It seems that if the towel dries just a little with the WAUD solution on it its shot.

I have not had this happen to me but I am going to assume it could or will, that said, I am going to just buy some dedicated cheap MF for use with WAUD. Get some of those $1 ones at supermarket. I think this product is so good I would not give it up for the cost of a MF over 10 washes, that's only $0.10 per wash, you lose more than that in the couch and never look for it.

Cheap MF + paint = marring, I only use that grade of MF for engines and door jams.

I'm with ebpcivicsi on this. Unless you've got hard clear, you're definitely taking a big chance w/ the cheapies and WAUD.

pdsterns, I use the large microfiber drying towels made by Vroom at Target for use with WAUD.

They are HUGE, ultra thick and plush.

Seth, do you have a dedicated towel or do you change up? Any problems? I have had WAUD ruin a similar blue microtex towel from walmart.

So are you guys using an MF that is as plush (or plusher) than a bath towel. This just seems like the wrong product to apply or spread a thin liquid. I guess it may be the wrong product to apply the stuff but the right product to remove it?

Joe, given that I have like 15 drying towels :o I have dedicated 5 of the Vroom bath towel-like sized drying towels. So, given the rotation I have *yet* to experience an issue.

For normal WW drying towels with no WAUD or QD, I wash and rinse in cold water with no detergent.

For the WAUD towels I use a little detergent, 2 ounces Simple Green, vinegar on a hot wash and an extra rinse cycle. With this routine, I haven't had your issue. But given the rotation of 5 towels, that's not to say in the near future, I won't have it :nixweiss

pdsterns, yes I am using a very plush drying towel with the WAUD and it spreads, coats and leaves a super slick, glossy finish like as if I used a regular MF. After a few panels, it becomes somewhat saturated with the WAUD so there is no worry of not coating the surface. You can use regular MF's to dry your car and spread WAUD with. But I would only stick with quality ones. I see ZERO point in using cheap MF's on paint. Instead reserve them for the interior, bumpers, and door jambs. With so many vendors and discounts out there, you can pick up some top MF's at low cost from PakShak or microfibertech. The Autopia store usually has a 20% sale in which I have loaded up on towels. They're all great over there too.

I use the giant towels because you have a lot more towel to use and less need to reach for multiple towels.
