Can't seem to get water spots out of paint by buffing with polish and wax....What is the best way to get them out? I can't get them out of glass either....some one told me to use very fine steel wool, but that seems that it will scratch the glass

if it has etched the paint, which can happen with acid rain drops, u'd have to cut the paint enough to remove the layer. if it just sits on top vinegar/water mix is good, clay works some what, and after that a polish with a good bite should take it out.

as for glass. try vinger/water mix. if that doesnt cut it, then grab dp glass restorer. hands down the best glass product i have ever used.

some people will use a 0000 steel wool when applying a waterspot remover to windows for an extra bite. Its pretty soft . It work the best on interior plastics and leather with a woolite / water mix.

Its like joyriide said the polish isn't strong enough to cut the spots. You need to get an abrasive polish / compound . PB's SSR 2.5 works great and you can go right to wax after .

imo, glass varies from different vehicle manufacturers. Whatever you decide to try based on recommendation, i would try it on a small area , and make sure you aren't marring the glass.

some glass is way softer , at least it seems , than others.

btw ... optical grade cerium oxide can be used to polish the glass is you do run into marring that isn't overly deep.
