Mystic Chrome Cobra total of around 1100 (coupes/convertibles) produced by Ford in 04

Tell you this ... before using the PC with the 3M compound at the trunk area I used a small micro fiber applicator with the 3M compound (part #03900) on one area on the hood and the marks started to come out (like I could see the edge of the spots get shiny. I did notice the pad was getting hot when I touched it. I got a little worried and stopped.

Try using a corner of a microfiber towel and let your finger be the "thermostat"... you'll feel the heat through the towel and that's when the product is starting to work. I've used a rotary on BMW hoods and trunk lids until the metal "pops" from the heat...scared the stuff out of me, but the owner said no problem.

Tried that on one of the marks, but I guess my finger got tired and well mark still there.

I guess I really need someone with a rotary to get this done.

try a heavy cutting pad like lake country yellow, megs burgandy, etc, and a heavy cutting polish - OHC, PG, HTEC and hit it a few times...they will come out eventually....or pay someone to use a rotary on it

i did a toyota prius that was horrendous...PG/rmg mixed 70/30 and about 5 cutting pads later it was ready for regular polishing....all done with a PC....i didnt find the thread, but there was one in the click and brag....

Thanks for the fast reply TH0001. I also have a small mobile detail business in Orlando and have ran accros a few nice cars with the same issue. My only problem was how to price a job that took so many hours to do. After reading your post I was guessing around 8-10 hours and I seem to be close. Now that I have a fixed location as well as mobile I'm looking for some guidance on pricing to take on these issues. Plus it will help now that I have a place to keep a car secured for more than one day to complete the work. Any Pricing Ideas?? Off the top of my head I'm thinking a couple hundred bucks.

He paid me to hit it with a rotary. The water etching where so deep that they could catch my finger nails. I hit it four times with Meguiars Powercompound at up to 2000 RPM using Meguiars cutting pad. Those aren't commining out with out wetsanding...
