water softner & car wash?

i currently use glod class wash, it's my personal favorite. i noticed at moms place i get tons and tons of suds. at my sisters place not so many? she has a built in softner and purifier system , and i noticed even when washing my hands with dawn dish soap, it takes a bit to rinse off. i just found out shes has this system, it's hooked up through main water pipes in the basement.

i just picked up some NXT wash, and tried it , i noticed less suds then goldclass wash, when used through softner system.

does anyone know anything about this and it's effect on car wash?

is car wash made to be used with hard water?

Can't really answer your Qs, but I will point out that I have a softener in my "new" garage, and the softened water works great with the shampoo I use (Griot's). It makes sense that some shampoos might be more/less sensitive to the hardness/softness of water, though it seems to me that a shampoo made for hard water would work even better in soft :nixweiss

in my opinion any wash will work better in soft water, i hate to admit it, but i have even had good luck with armorall car wash in soft water

Soft water is trickey - when you shower it feels like you still have soap on your skin after you rinse - not so - it's just the lack of all the other crap in there and the "salts" used to filter. Suds have nothing to do with cleaning anyhoo. They are just there for us to think that.

~One mans opinion / observations~

I think it’s because the detergent only has o deal with the dirt/soil as opposed to the hard water minerals so it cleans more effectively.

~Hope this helps~

i have no complaints on cleaning ability or lubrication. Both Gold Class and NXT wash work well. it's just the amount of suds i was curious about. i'll have to ask my neighbor if i could use his hose. and do a side by side. maybe it's just me. :nixweiss
