I rent space inside the service department at a local used car dealership. When I'm not there, the guy who works for the owner will sometimes bring in the dealership's cars and "clean" them and so on. Because a lot of people are in and out of there on a daily basis and I can't really lock anything up, I keep my best, most used, rarest and/or most expensive small products in a Rubbermaid container with a latch and handle (approx. 1 ft x 1.25 ft x 1 ft).
This setup was working fine until I came into work today and noticed the entire thing was filled up with water from a combination of a hose leak and someone using the pressure washer. Unfortunately, I had the Klasse twins in the box as well and I'm worried they might be ruined. The SG had no cap for the small hole at the top so it pretty much filled with water (though when I poured some out it gradually became more the consistency and appearance of SG and less of water) and the AIO has a small crack at the bottom and I'm not even sure if water got in there.
I also had a container of S100 which was filled with water, but I poured it out and squeezed the applicator dry - I would think that the wax would be fine since it is supposed to be water resistant.
My question is if anyone knows if these two products would be completely ruined after this, or if the water and chemical will not mix and eventually separate as I suspect may have happened to the SG. Also, does anyone else have similar stories of going into work only to find your supplies for the day in less than working order?
