Washing with Dawn

I'm not a total idiot when I use Dawn to wash my car... I make sure to spray enough Pledge in the bucket to ensure it has protection after the wash. Otherwise it'd be harder to clean the paint off my car where I park it in the spray booth under the sap trees.

I actually prefer Cascade rinse, followed by JetDry.

The jetdry helps avoid water spots and leaves a clean finish.

I have a co worker who told me he uses dawn to wash his car. he said he likes using it because he loves suds :nixweiss

If it is suds he likes, tell him to try Ultima Paint Guard Wash. Does he use bleach to remove water spots? :chuckle:

i remember when i was a kid i knew older guys who would wash thier cars with some dish soap and a cap full of olive oil in the bucket.

they said the olive oil made the car shine. i thought it just made it damn near impossible to dry.

For some reason, my Grandpa doesn't wash his 95 2500 Cummins very often. The bugs were caked on so bad he used Dawn and steel wool. Yeah, I typed that right. Needless to say, he destroyed the paint (and chrome grill).

Some people just shouldn't own vehicles :grinno:

There's a car wash here that uses steel wool on chrome wheels. They ruined some of the chrome wheels on my dads fairly new truck. I don't think he ever took it back to them again.
