Washing, Claying, AIO (are my assumptions correct) ?

Hi,

I am planning on washing and then claying my car with Megs quick clay before using AIO+RMG_NXT.

My questions are :

1) Do I need to dry the car before claying it ? Will be using megs quick detailer as my lubricant. Logic tells me not.

2) Do I need to wash the car again after claying before applying AIO ? (again I assume not)

3) Does the car have to be 100% dry before applying AIO ? will a little bit a water left in the nooks and crannies of the car cause problems ? Again I assume not.

Am I correct ?

Many thanks

I wash, rinse, then with the car still wet use soapy water as clay lube, then dry.

After drying you will be fine to go with the AIO. Its wipe on wipe off so the odd run off water wont cause any major grief. Saying that a good dry and a can of compressed air should leave many problem areas.

To answer your questions ...

(1) No, you don't need to dry your car before claying it. Also, many people use the car wash solution as a clay lubricant. It all depends on the clay and car wash solution used as some clays hold up better than others.

(2) I re-wash the car after claying to remove any clay residue. Others do too. Their process is wash-clay-wash-dry.

(3) A little bit of water in the nooks should be okay. When I use AIO, the paint on my car is dry.

Many thanks for the input

the plan will be wash->clay->wash->dry->AIO->RMG->NXT

Anyone, antything more to add ?

Thanks

AIO is water-soluble so there is no problem using it on a surface with any stray streaks of water. In fact, you can put about 1 oz of AIO in a spray bottle with some water to make a quick cleaning detail type spray.
